AT Mine tricks?

Anyone have any neat AT mine tricks to take out vehicles?

Some tactics I have used are as follows, they are mostly successful (not always)

1)  Smoke mined areas as vehicles approach so they drive through - BOOM

2)  Run from vehicles (in the open) and lay mines in front of me.  Most drivers are usually so focused on crunching me they don't notice the mines I ran past. - BOOM

3)  Make a mine triangle, place Ranger in the middle.   Vehicles often want to run it over. - BOOM

I haven't really played with mines much, but at the start of each round(Breakthrough) vehicles do seem to take the same road most of the time, i would make a little hole from an explosion  to hide them in, but smoke could work too 😉

  • Maps lack vehicle chokepoints so I don't find AT mines very effective in 2042.

My only trick is to abuse the crap out of Angel's resupply crate.  With the way it works you can get the deployable gadgets like AT mines for free.

    My approach:

Setup your four loadouts with 1) Spawn Beacon 2) AT Mines 3) C5 4) M5

    • Spawn in with beacon and place.
    • Call in crate and switch to AT mines
    • Drop mines
    • Swap to M5
    • You are now getting all the benefits of the beacon and mines since they remain after the kit swaps while not giving up the M5 (or other preferred gadget)

I haven't tested this yet, but I suspect C5 remains after a kit swap as well. If so then this approach would be better.

    • Spawn in with beacon and place.
    • Call in crate and switch to AT mines
    • Drop (1 ) mine in Zone A
    • Drop (2 ) mines in Zone B
    • Swap to C5
    • Place (2 ) C5 with the mine at Zone A
    • Place (1 ) C5 with the mines at Zone B
    • Swap to M5
    • You are now getting all the benefits of the spawn beacon + (2 ) mined areas capable of a OHK + M5 with bottomless ammo.

Now who wants to argue with me that Angel still isn't the most OP specialist. If only he could revive too...oh wait...

  • It sounds counterintuitive but I've had moderate success planting mines where tanks and other vehicles really shouldn't be going - I've found players love pushing the boundaries on what should be considered insane and pointless like inside buildings, up stairs, and anything that resembles a ramp of 10 degrees or higher

Honestly the way the mines have glowing flashing red LED lights to alert the enemy  is really defeating their purpose

Its quite bogus we can only carry 3 mines in 2042, especially considering the huge size of all maps. Consider the fact that on the old 20v20 BF4 Conquest maps on Xbox 360, Engineers could place up to 6 mines. YES SIX!

As far as success in 2042. Conquest. Play as Angel. Beginning of each match get to the objective next to enemy spawn. Most of those objectives  have a road that 90% of the vehicles take. Mine that road. Or move close the enemy spawn and scout out which road is taken the most. Mine the main road at a choke point/narrowing as close into the spawn as you can get.

Repeat process via spawn beacon, mines and C4 as you attack the nearest objective.

Tested this today. Deployed C5 does stick around after you kit swap using Angel's crate giving you the potential for (2 ) lethal stacks of mines.
