Bad Spawn Points
Does anyone else feel like the spawn points in conquest around objectives is too dangerous? Like you'll spawn almost in between 2 objectives with a dozen enemies just waiting to shoot. Thought maybe ...
Spawning in 2042 is a giant joke.
BF1 and BFV had some improvements to spawning, but it seems like this has been reverted back to the BF4 days (which were just like 2042).
Spawns are often in open areas without any cover and it can be behind/in front of enemies. It feels like a totally random system, without any attempt to make the spawns 'safe' by any means. Spawning on a contested flag is lottery, perhaps Dice should disable spawning on contested flags (like Battlebit does).
No BF-game has done this perfectly, but it is still way worse than BFV and BF1.
Part of it is how dense the areas are around the spawn points with buildings, cover and changes in elevation.
The updated maps have some better spawn locations due to the increased cover whilst still being close to capture points.
That said a lot of them are still out in the open and its not uncommon to spawn next to an enemy.
The other half of it is the way the system works for selecting where you spawn.
In general the game tries to spawn you in a location that is on the side of the flag away from where the enemy will be attacking from.
If there are no enemies around it will spawn you close to the middle of the flag. It might even spawn you in the direction of the closest enemy flag so you can get a head start running to it.
However, if there are vehicles sitting in most of the good spawn locations, or players about to spawn there, or players in combat there it will spawn you somewhere else, potentially next to an enemy. This wasn't as a big deal in the previous games because with 64 players there were generally less players attacking a single capture point (but it did still happen).
So sometimes the system just stuffs up and puts you in an instant death situation, and this seems to be much more common in BF2042 than in previous games.
Further to this I'm quite sure the spawns themselves have to be set with the correct information.
So its highly likely that some of the spawn locations that are meant to be US or RU only have both teams set, or the wrong team set, or if the system is meant to change this based on current flags it is glitching out.
Overall, the easiest solution is to just put in more spawn points further away from where combat is likely to be, otherwise they need to tinker with a lot of different things.
Imho the whole spawn system in BF2042 needs to be addressed / reworked as a matter of urgency.
The number of spawn / dead instances is the worst I have witnessed in any BF to date.
