WHAT'S UP WITH THESE * * BALLISTIC SHIELDS NOW? Never a problem before season 5, but now it's like they're a developers craft item that prolapses all the * of non-shielders. Straight * cheeks. The amount of explosive damage is absolutely ridiculous, I'm expecting to see them ankles/forehead enough during flinch to blast but nah, get bashed MF.
Dozer was the least-played Specialist since launch, so they had to do something to get player to use him. I don't know why they care about usage balance.
In the few rounds of Rush I played recently, half the teams were Dozer, which goes back to the original point about Battlefield games and Specialists don't mix well unless you had different sets per faction, or only allowed the use of one per team.
The Shield is pretty OP right now, but like everything else in the game, there is no balance, something is either OP or UP.

Dozer’s Ballistic Shield is total BS. See what I did there? Get it? You see I was making,…oh, nevermind.
Seriously though,…if this is the new norm, I want a friggin’ Flamethrower.

The thing you have to take from all this is someone or some people at DICE sat down and decided that a ballistic shield needed OVER TWO METRES REACH.
That was an actual decision that paid "professionals" made.
And we wonder why the game has been the mess that it is.
I feel that his shield needs 2 hits to kill the enemy to make things a bit more grounded and in line with the perceived scale of damage of weapons but make it easy to do so by making the first hit that does like 50 dmg or so - more if in the head - makes the enemy stagger and disoriented a bit then being able to follow it up with another hit killing them. When they're disoriented they can shoot but the aim will be inaccurate so there is still a chance with luck to damage or kill you when they get hit the first time.
Feel something similar with the throwing knife and crossbow as well, if you get hit in in the arms or legs it would do about 50 dmg but they would be stunned and the next hit anywhere would kill them, and hit in the head or torso would be 1-hit kill like it is now.
