Banned for new mouse?

It's possible if the software is deemed to go against the Positive Play Charter and User Agreement.

However, the full details behind the ban will only really be known to EA's Terms of Service team. They are also the only people who can overturn a ban. 

The ToS team allow three appeals before they will no longer accept any more, so if you have information that you feel refutes the ban then it would be worth appealing again. 

I'm not sure what information I can provide? What would be worth sending to them? I don't have any gameplay recordings, nor screenshots.

Do I send a screenshot of the software or something?

Does the software allow the recording of macro's if so that most likely got you.

I hadn't played for a while, jumped on for a few games, banned.
Nothing in my stats or game play could possibly trigger a ban (sadly)
Currently awaiting a decision on my appeal.

It would depend on the ban reason you would have been given. If it suggests that the ban was for cheating, then it's potentially software based and you could maybe point towards it not giving an unfair advantage. You can also download your data from EA and see if there is any further info there.

It may not ultimately make and difference, but that's up to ToS at the end of the day and all you can do is appeal.

I been fighting my ban for 18 days and I went to the Better Business Bureau and same crap. BBB sent an email directly to EA and they give canned emails to try and appeal the ban even after mentioning that I already tried. Three appeals and they will stop responding to you. I have had my account for 14 years from PSN to linking it to PC and played BF3 and BF4 and stuck through with BF2042(1000 hrs). I have been reading reddit, (r/origin)(r/battlefield 2042) (steam discussions) , and forums here and there are a lot of us getting banned. Never hacked and never cheated, wish I could get back all the money I spent of BF2042. 

I won't be giving them anymore business save your money.

I've been seeing a lot of claims of false bans lately. Which if you go to the forums to complain about, you're likely just a regular player that's confused and upset. Cheaters probably understand the appeal process better than anyone.

Oscar_Mike_92II​ Most mice and keyboards have macro functionality these days, so I really doubt it has anything to do with that. I'm sure it can, or has happened, but it would be highly unlikely. 

My appeal just got refused.
They cannot provide any evidence of my "cheating" while I provided a list of every piece of software that was running on my computer.
20 plus years of playing BF and this is how they treat people.  
There is no way an actual person looked at my appeal.

You're not alone. Many people getting banned all of a sudden for cheating after 10+ years of playing every BF title. EA owns the only data that can prove you weren't cheating so basically you have no recourse unless you live in a country that won't allow enforcement of the arbitration clause of their terms of service, and can get a lawyer to take the case.

For future refence ANY response from a Community Manager will NOT be helpful, they use copy/paste response's and just refer you to the help page. Report EA to BBB and download your User data and submit it to them, find EA employee's on LinkdIn and try and get some form of real communication to someone with any type of pull. many people have been having problems with wrongful bans very recently.
