Been playing battlefield 2042 for a week now and am becoming abundantly sick of campers both assault players lying off point and vehicle huggers who blatantly without vehicles are poor.......Used to love this franchise but it's getting harder to pick up the controller and play...does any one know any servers that don't have campers...or should I give up

@c6d3ebb723bdb4a0Many people don't play the objective, that playstyle needs to be built into the game at the beginning. This Battle Royal style of gameplay does not translate well into PTO. They have released classes now which help with PTO but you still see to many playing outside the objective farming kills.So my answer is no it is still a camp fest of a game.

@c6d3ebb723bdb4a0 Campers have existed in every Battlefield game since I first played 1942. Although I haven’t played many other multiplayer games except the BF series, I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that campers exist in every single multiplayer game. Unless you stop playing multiplayer games, I think you’re stuck with them like the rest of us. I love to PTFO, sometimes though you find the right spot and have the right gun for that moment… and I’ll camp the love right out of it. Sometimes ya can’t help it man 😉

I think a part of the camping problem is that the game has become too deadly and uncontrollable.The gun-play is way too easy and you can kill people with almost all weapons, at extreme distances. Killing people at 50+ meters in older titles is not nearly as easy as in 2042 (except with DMR/Snipers).The gun-play combined with the increased player-count, more vehicles in general and the bad map-design, makes any kind of movement around the map much more deadly than in earlier games.

@c6d3ebb723bdb4a0 Camping has been a big problem in BF5 and now BF2042. Previous games also had camers, but to much lesser extent.In BF5 Dice gave campers too many overpowered tools. Mines, MMGs, AMRs, OP shotguns and such.2042 people camp because (I'm about to offend pretty much everyone) almost everyone is bad at this video game.With so many kids crying and complaining that the're getting killed from hundreds of meters away by a pistol, someone turning around and killing them even though they unloaded 50 rounds into them and such. So instead of actually getting better, people nowadays prefer to just give up and camp in a corner. And since there are twice as many people, sitting in a corner somewhere around hot spot pretty much guarantees someone will pass you by every 30 seconds.Also the fact that you can have an insane amount of spotting devices doesn't help. Someone can be sitting in a bush with a 100 meter radius under the radar with TUGs, motion ball, drone or X6

Your dedication to this game is of such note that I really do think that EA should recognise it in some way.The game you describe in your many posts is one that I really would like to experience and at a guess many others would as well, you are very lucky to have such a unique personal experience yourself, to the point where pretty much everyone but you is bad at this game (apologies if I offended you).The only thing that I can think exceeds your dedication to this game is your inability to accept the reality of many other players, the blatantly obvious failures of this game that can be found documented in youtube videos and the spectrum of Internet forums and your rejection of anything remotely negative that is based in fact.Being able to reject the reality of getting killed from hundreds of meters away by a pistol, someone turning around and killing them even though they unloaded 50 rounds into them and such is an outstanding skill that I would suggest that you are probably world leader material, only since about 2016 though mind.

The thing most people seem to be really bad at is less about their ability to kill other players and more about their ability to make decisions about where they should be or do in order to benefit their team

I agree and personally hate campers and have no interest in vehicles, but 2042 is INCREDIBLE and definitely worth playing.
It absolutely has a few things which really * me off, but MANY things which make the game just WONDERFUL

Looking at YourLocalPlumber stats at BF tracker shows that he is a god (top 1% in every stat) in BF2042 or user of AI aim. Don't care. Everyone does as he wants.
There are good things in the game right now and still many issues. Switching ot Crossplay off resolves a lot of hitreg issues. But still means wating 20 minutes for one round of breaktrough, stopped palying CQ back in BF3 due to constant vehcile campers... Let's see what the future brings in this game. Maybe I should give WW3 a try.

@UP_HawxxeyeIts not even about ability to kill hoards of enemies.

Even a simple task of reviving, staying in the flag area, having no clue where the enemies might be coming from, not dropping ammo etc etc. The list goes on.

Sometimes I get some really good randoms and have an absolute blast playing together. Especially when they see you as a good player, and start following you. Not only they're helping in more ways they realize, they also learn alot when moving around with skilled players. Learning enemy spawns, learning cover, rotation etc

Camping in a corner means not only you know nothing, but you also learn nothing while you're at it.

@c6d3ebb723bdb4a0 To many people play the BF2042 objective, which is "unlocking skins". This behavior is unrelated to the game mode they play.

Currently I get the impression of an increasing number of hard to explain deaths on my part, which is suppressing most of the fun.

I have found a huge increase in camping in tanks, up a hill in their own map section just shooting into flagged areas all match, boring as hell, as soon as you try to target them they drive down the hill and come back up so never get killed

2042 incentivized tank camping more than any BF before.
2 reasons:
1) The tanks feel weaker than ever in aggressive play, Bad turret angles + bad mobility + EMP/hack\\
2) If you lose the vehicle, the game will punish you by not making you wait like 20 sec more than the rest of the team at claiming the next spawn of that category.
It is a perfect storm

@UP_Hawxxeye Tanks are a little stronger if not the same it's the weapons that are weaker. Takes forever with anti tank ammo to drop even the weakest of vehicles.

I remember in BF 1 when you could drop a tank in 3 shots with the tank hunter kit. But now after 12 shots with heavy AP ammo the tank still stands.
