I'm a little confused by why there are almost no guns?

Maps take a long time sure, there was a big change in map design direction so even though 1 map isn't enough I can understand that.

BF 2042 launched with significantly less guns than any other BF game, I thought for sure season 1 you guys would be desperate to add a bunch of cool weapons in

Does it take 4 months to create one weapon? Was there no plan to add more weapons?
