This is an issue.This has to be the worst BF game launch in history and nothing like the war simulator we wanted.All they seemed to worry about is stupid gimmicks like weather events and rocket launches.How this game isn't still in Alpha i will never know.I personally like it but the steam stats must wake Dice/EA up.It's a BF game but it's very bare bones and seems only half done, there's many posts on this forum pointing out all the missing features so i won't bother you with them again.I just hope Dice/EA will listen and fix all the missing parts of the game. The problem is there's too many missing things to even start with.Hopefully the game gets ALOT of support and FREE expansions because i spent £100 on this half made game.

@xDelvious I think its because no one WANTS to dislike the game. Its more of a painfully fun experience then anything else. Like me watching Prometheus over and over and hoping it will get better by doing so?

@ghinavirusThat is my biggest concern / fear. The list is so long at this point, that I seriously wonder how realistic it is that they get to it all...They really need to pump brakes on any 2 year cycle and open their eyes to this game's reception and every other game around it getting delayed and/or releasing with serious issues...Otherwise, their next game will be an even bigger, buggier mess. It is essentially self-sabotage at that point.

@ArchAngeL-PCX Agree to disagree then.What you described for Battlefield 4 sounds exactly like what I am experiencing with 2042. Intermittent disconnecting (my first lost server connection issue last night actually), but there is a Battlefield game tucked away in there behind the connection issues, bugs, etc. Since we are still in week 1 / 2 for the game, the months ahead comparison is naturally a bit harder to make...Agreed on Battlefield V.

@Reddoguk Not the worst in history.While it is unfortunate that game still needs so much work, Battlefield 4 was worse at launch. Battlefield V was better at launch, but the drama surrounding it and the doubling-down on dumb or broken game mechanics were early coffin nails.I do not really pay attention to media input on the game at this point. They all say the same thing and the easy, self-gratifying groupthink is really good at not seeing the forest for the trees...My take is still that the game is fun, but it needs a lot of work still.

The problem is everyone seems to think its just technical issues. The main problems of this game are BY DESIGN. Terrible map design, no scoreboard, missing features etc are all by design, i.e they sat around a meeting table and DECIDED these changes. Sure the technical aspect will get better as they always do after a BF launch but the serious core changes and missing features (im sure a guy on here compiled a massive list, it should have been stickied and crossed off if they changed anything back) were actively decided upon and may never return in this game or even at all.

If you had been following since the start on social media/forums, the review bomb has been planned all along. Obviously 74% negative is a gross exaggeration when most people that play the game have fun regardless of the issues. These are not balanced reviews. Consider many of the reviewers play times, lack of mentioning any positives or that it is fun, and the fact that many of the negative reviewers have not refunded and are still playing. It is disingenuous to not recommend a game that you are still playing and having fun with just because you are trying to "send a message" that you want X features or Y bug fixed.

@carsono311Carsono311 they have made enough BF's to know what works and what does not.

They failed at the basics things that they had implied back in 2005 with the release of this BF - VOIP / hit-reg and game that mostly worked.

We can blow smoke up the a*rse of EA all you want, but the simply truth is that by the time they fix all the issues the player base will have moved on to another game and BF2042 will simply die a slow death.

Another poor installment of our beloved franchise. this might be the end of an BF itself.

@buxshots Could be, but I do not really play any other games... maybe Diablo IV when it comes out?

I am not giving EA DICE much more grace at this point, but I am enjoying the game still.

Metacritic user score is 2.3. Hopefully this will wake EA/DICE up. I doubt it though. I'm putting my faith into the relaunch of World War 3. Maybe our only hope of getting new good Battlefield like game.

@White_NoaiM Most of those guys have videos listing very long lists of player issues and grievances in 2042 - they're being very candid about the state of the game and accurately so. They aren't doing rage bait which I guess some people want to see.

There is also a big misconception in the community that influencers hold undue sway with DICE when DICE ultimately does what DICE wants regardless of the input from influencers.
