I agree, but how is that any different from other BF games ?.
- Col_Larsen2 years agoNew Ace@zaitsl8jlk87 Compared how game was at launch way way better. Buggy - sometimes - I have fluid gameplay. Hakcers - yes but way way less than BF1 and 5. PC have advantage over consoles - agree - should never have been this mixed world mode (crossplay) - stupid idea.
Yes agree there are still bugs - but game is way better than before. BF 3 and 4 was great ones - no doubt ! - Adamonic2 years agoLegend
@Netranger9the core of the game is broken with very little balance and terrible map designs.
Specialists, especially Mackay and Sundance broke the BF formula and made the gameplay too randomized.
Arguably the worst net code ever designed for an FPS. We have hit reg issues 2 years post-launch.
45Hz servers in 2023, soon to be 2024 is borderline criminal at this point.
Quick Play and matchmaking is the only method to join a game, that works great for a Battle Royale game, but not for BF. A Server Browser is a must.
Launched in 2021, and still in 2023, very little destruction and levelution, which was a hallmark of previous BF games.
Player movement is still clunky, you can't swim underwater, don't try to move backwards when prone, how about leaning? Nah, that was so 2013. Let me sidestep slowly into view to be aim-assisted to death and killed behind cover. Some actions take so long to complete that you are dead before you can even complete them. Oh, there is a one-foot high bump, impossible for a human to jump that, let's do a delayed climbing animation so I can be shot while looking cool.
Vehicle physics are still way off, like we are fighting on another planet where everything is floaty with less gravity. A small little rock can stop a tank going full speed like it hit a brick wall or launch you 30 feet in the air.
Mouse input is still delayed, and from the sounds of it, on purpose. There is better mouse response in PowerPoint than in an FPS, and some things are impacted on the server side which is mind-boggling.
Again no different than any other BF game.Oh I almost forgot the least amount of content for any BF title, the fewest weapons, vehicles, and maps, which is the content we pay for. The game was the most expensive of any title, yet we got the least amount of "game" in the series. Go figure, almost like they only exist to make the biggest profit possible with the lowest amount of overhead.

While I totally agree with this well thought analysis, it's important that DICE recognize the problems and do their very best to fix them soon and before the end of Season 8, rather than give up, because we aren't getting another Battlefield for at least a year and a half.

But what about all my weapon charms (that you can't see [who gives a crap]), badges (that you can't see [who gives a crap]), and weapon/specialist skins and takedown animations!!! Just think of all of that AMAZING content!

I don't know about worst in the series "Hardline I'm looking at you" but is incredibly poor for a company who used to put out good games.

I thought i check for myself.
Played BF4 recently- worse experience than BF2042.
Played BFV again which i loved a lot - BF2042 is as good.
Love the big maps, the specialists and the combination of their gadgets actually make an interesting play.
Bottom line is this: people who like to run and gun like headless chicken always complain about battlefield 2042. Everything bothers them, the vehicles, the big maps etc.
The only thing that bothered me at the beginning of the game was cross play. I got Insta killed by PC players which is not a problem lately I have to admit. Maybe it's worse for the PC players now? I don't know, it's a decent game good as the recent battlefield titles but in a different way.
Kudos to Dice for daring to do something different. Not like COD. The recent MW3 is copy paste or just a DLC.
- @Adamonic Completely agree

The same teams/studios are not working on the same games. There are several other studios and other groups in DICE already working on the next title. There are like 5 devs and few "Managers" and "Directors" working on 2042.
