Battlefield 2042 optimization
Hi I'd like to discuss this subject. My pc is not old nor new. It has a pretty solid GPU that runs all games on ultra Geforce GTX 1080 ti with cpu i7 7700k 4.2 Ghz. Now my question is: are there goin...
An I7-7700K is an old CPU by now and will get low FPS or lots of FPS variance in BF, it could be the cause of stuttering as well. Even BFV was pretty hard on 4C/8T CPUs. BF-games are notoriously hard on the CPU and with 128 players, things has been taken to a new level.
But like you I get a lot of "lag-issues", insta-deaths from all kind of weapons, getting killed around corners/behind cover, etc. The "netcode" of 2042 is really bad and for me it seems like the servers are struggling to handle the game. The worst part is that 64 player modes are just as bad as 128 player modes.
I'm personally getting really frustrated by the bad netcode and that cannot be solved by a faster CPU (I have a Ryzen 5800X).
@GRiPSViGiLAnd you are probably right. But in low resolutions, no CPU is probably fast enough for the 3080TI.
The new 5800X3D improves FPS in some titles, compared to the 12900K.
But whether upgrading from a 5800X is worth it at this point is another story, lots of money for a very small improvement in most games.
