Battlefield 2042 Season pass sharing?

Dear EA,

I have a question about the Year One pass on BF 2042 Gold edition.

I have a PlayStation 5 with my account on it (main account) and 1 account for my little brother.

When i pre order BF2042 gold edition i get the Year 1 pass, does this also apply for my little brothers account?

Is the pass console based or account based?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

@Barry1610 I'm not sure about the BF2042 content and all it's extras yet how it will be connected within accounts on one platform.

Usually a game content is account connected, but it can workout different if they login through the same console and start the same application then.

But if i remember right from PS4/PS5 in general, if you have an account with a Game installed where you have also Premium or even something like PlayStation Plus membership, all the other accounts on this PS console should have access to certain benefits if this Console/Account has been set as your Primarily one.

I think the PS menu even explains you what benefits other accounts have if you want to set it as primary one.

Best is if you get the game and have everything installed and ready, playing with your own account ans see all the available content. Then your brother can simply login and see what content is available when he starts up BF2042.

    That is correct @Its_Travis_199 !

What is important is that the PlayStation main account is the one acquiring the licenses for all games to be bought/used/played in the household.  And that this main account is the one used to download and install the game on the console.

If done this way, then all sub-accounts on that PlayStation will all be able to play the game.

But all the in-game frills will only be available to the single unique soldier registered at EA for that license.  Aka skins/in-game currency/weapon packs etc.

Like in BF4, a main account could purchase the full Premium version of the game.  Install and play it all.  So could also the sub-accounts playing on that same PlayStation.  They also had access to all the DLC maps etc.  But their soldiers did not have Premium status, aka so they could not enroll into the Phantom program, they did not have the expanded emblem editor, they did not have access to the Premium Easter Egg or the Premium dog tags for their soldier...

  • Hello @Barry1610

All content from 1 PSN Account can't be available on another PSN Account. Its locked to that Account where it was bought. 🙂

You can have you Gold Edition content on different Platforms, but you need to be sure to have your EA Account linked on those Platforms.

  • @Barry1610It is account based. The only way you could share it with your brother is if you and he use the same EA account that Edition is linked to.

  • @Barry1 In previous battlefields on the playstation version, if you purchased a season pass, you had to manually download the dlc from the playstation store and if that account was primary on that console, other users on that console could play on the same content.

I think that the Year Pass is not a DLC, its ULC and that is account bound and it will not work the same as in previous battlefields. The big questions here is, if and when they will release an exapnsion, will you be required to have a year pass to play it? or the year pass is only for the cosmetics? If its going to be a DLC, and you will be able to go to the playstation store and download it, then it will be possible to share it on the same console.
