Battlefield 4/3 Remake would've been better
- 4 years ago
Personally I too was hoping for a BF4 remake, brining In Some of the aspects improvements from One and BF5.
I enjoyed those games but prefer the more modern setting.
Whilst that was my preference I can appreciate that games have to evolve. I tolerate Hazard zone and those Royal genre game types existing but never play them, but the mixing of paradigms, that is the bf2042 we have, I’m currently really not a fan off.
so I understand that there was a vision to try something new, mash together and experiment, and I think new modes, classes and game play opportunities could add to the BF franchise to help it evolve.
Taking it down this hybrid royal/fortnight esk…doesn’t feel right for me, at least not in the main game, where I feel a more BF feeling would/could have manifested around a more military Simulation approach.
i.e setting up fobs around flags, holding for a certain amount of time before leaving to get specific points.
perks for military transporters moving groups around. Especially given the vehicle to player ratio and large maps.
squad objectives given by an ai commander, to help balance team displacement across the map.
basicaly tonnes of really cool squad features and goal orientated missions for squads could I think have been a totally different approach more appropriate for the BF franchise.
so whilst a BF4 remake would have been cool, I do think it should have still evolve, and not take this weird route into the twilight zone.
