Lets face it, it's a demo, not a beta. It'll have "beta" on it as a way to explain away any bugs. All this "beta" talk literally weeks from launch is comical, they know its not a beta, we know its not a beta.
@TAYTER-GUNI agree mostly on what you say.
But they can still get some useful data from this, like running the game on live servers, on a scale they haven't done before.
And there will probably be found new bugs as well, again a matter of scale and combinations of different hardware, players 'abusing' the game etc.
Game-play wise it will not matter much, they will not have time for doing anything else than perhaps getting a few more minor fixes in the 'Day-one-patch'.

I really want to see what they have to offer with coms. Hoping for no more PTT on the PC. Apart from sussing out the gunplay, I watched those leaked Alpha trial videos and didn't see any squad play anywhere, not a lot of aggressive playing the flag and not a lot of squad action. The Orbital map didn't really have the atmosphere we saw in the trailers. Lots of running around grassed areas and pretty standard industrial buildings. Want to know what it feels like with everything switched on and a competitive squad. The bots worry me, hoping they will support the squad. Saw some being easy targets standing in the open. Ok if they are on the other side, but hope they will support squad objectives properly.
- 4 years ago@GrizzGolf I'm hoping Bf2042 surprises me and has good gameplay, new enjoyable maps, gotten rid of the linear gameplay we all hated in BF1 and BF5 and I hope for decent airplanes.
Ideally we get mod support, but I very much doubt that's going to be released.
BF portal is promising with 1942 maps coming back. However, I generally dislike developers bringing back old content instead of creating new. It feels a bit cheap and I wonder why I have to 'settle' for something I played 20 years ago.
Don't get me wrong, I loved 1942 and I still think it's one of the best games I have ever played and I genuinely feel sorry for people that started playing BF at let's say BF3 or BF4 releases. However, I'd much rather play good NEW content.- lzilchetl4 years agoSeasoned Ace
