2042, at this point, is less a game and more an exercise in Dice burning up decades worth of trust in them as a studio.

I agree and I personally have lost a lot of that respect / trust.
BF was always an easy buy / pre order, you could buy with confidence based on previous versions experience.
How many of us could buy the next iteration with any level of confidence after the way BF2042 has been handled, sadly not many I would guess.
