I'm playing conquest as infantry:
Which maps presently provide a poor opening experience because of the location of the Base Spawn?
Almost all maps have this problem. The spawning for infantry are a awful experience for most infantry players, as they have to run for a long time before anything happens. Forcing spawns should be removed (this issue was in BFV at launch, why was it even in the game again).
On which maps and Flags do you see the most immediate need for more line of sight blockers?
Line of sight blockers? I hope that this means more than just a few 'objects', we need terrain changes as well. With so many players we need the maps to be more separated into smaller "areas", like Orbital and Manifest.
All maps except for Orbital and Manifest are not really fun to play as infantry. For me the prioritization is as follows:
Hourglass, Breakaway, Kaleidoscope, Renewal, Discarded, Orbital
Do you have specific areas on maps that currently stand out to you as lacking cover?
- Hourglass are more or less a total fail with no cover on most of the map. This map is not for infantry and needs to be redesigned.
- Kaleidoscope has no cover in sectors E and B and have issues at both spawns. The high buildings results in too many roof-campers.
- Renewal has RU spawning in an open field in line of sight from objectives, all sectors are way to open (except perhaps B).
- Discarded is way to open getting between sectors (especially getting from B to C), RU has too much open areas to cross from spawn.
- Breakaway has too little cover in all sectors except for sector A. The map is too large in general. The verticality again invites to sniper-camping.
- Orbital is too open in sectors D and E. Partly because of the high building in the middle (again roof-camping snipers).
- Manifest is fine. The excessive verticality probably gives some specialists unfair advantages (Mckay/Sundance).
