Battlefield Direct Communication Lacks Communication

I love the idea of an official Twitter account dedicated to "Dev comments, Patch details, Server Status & more!", but find myself refreshing the page fairly often throughout the day with no new results. If used effectively, this account could be a direct line of communication to the players. As of right now, its only purpose has been to let people know why something has been disabled instead of what's being worked on. No timeline has been presented for any of these and it leads to rather dire assumptions from fans.

It's strange to tweet about game features being disabled and then proceed to not comment on it for days. Portal XP and Dozer's shield being disabled seem like things that should be talked about a lot, even if the problems are "far" from being solved. This seems even more important during the days after the early launch of the title when the game faces the most criticism. Setting unrealistic expectations for a launch day update on the 19th would be one thing, but being completely silent on any future updates whatsoever is a whole different problem. There is community backlash and nothing to give people hope at the moment. People are having critical issues with the game and hearing nothing in return. It becomes quite noticeable when developers are silent. Not to put the blame on them of course, I'm sure they want the best for BF2042.

I love the game so far but have taken note of issues throughout matches whether it be performance, server-side, or game-breaking bugs. My expectations were met with the release being that it's very fun but needs work. I just wish that to compensate for a lot of the community's mistrust and dislike of the current state of the game, this account would be used much more effectively. It doesn't need to be drastic updates or false promises, it just needs to give people hope for the future of Battlefield.

There is a great core of a game here; its future just needs to be fully realized and communicated to the community.

I agree. I think many will understand when something will go wrong with the game. It shouldn't happen but, well... we are just people and mistakes happen. It's great that DICE is telling us about the problem and why they disable something. But what is not great is a lack of any further communication and keeping players in the dark - what is being made to rectify the problem and when it will be fixed. The glaring example is the current problem with a progression temporarily disabled in some modes - what does mean "temporarily" - a couple of days? A couple of weeks? A month? A year? Nobody knows. What is being done to fix the problem there? Is it a priority, so customers who paid an extra for the game to just play the game modes which were "crippled" will get at least a few days before the full release? Once again, nobody knows.

Imagine when there needs to be a water delivery temporarily stopped into your household, because some problem happened - you will get informed about it, the water delivery was stopped and then... a complete silence. No water even after three days, no communication, you have no idea when you will get water again and your provider is refusing to pick your phone calls. I am sure everybody will get pretty angry about that. It's a similar case here.
