- 4 years ago@xXHappy_PuppyXx That's not what I insinuated. The Battlefield playerbase essentially just wants an updated version of BF4 for 60 bucks, regardless of how that might impact the long term growth and profitability of the franchise. We are not the modern profitable Apex and Fortnight players that EA wants. We come from an previous era of multiplayer gaming.

@afzSnickelfritzTo be honest I think that narrative is actually untrue to a large degree because I dont think a lot of players truely want a BF4 remake, but they believe they want it, because thats their reference point. When they get the perfect BF4 remake, its not "right".
Why: Its kind of like that "first love" analogy. You want to feel the same again, but you need to move on and find someone new.
They actually want "the new cool thing". Not a bland remake, not even a good remake.
If players could choose between a perfect remake of a favourite BF title or a brand new totally different game that blew them away, they would choose the new game and end up playing that the most, not the remake. - 4 years ago@afzSnickelfritz Well... Take BF4's framework, expand on it and twist it into 2042-era with some gadgets (instead of specialists)... Design new maps based on the layout of good ones from BF3 & 4 (easy to figure out since they're popular in a "legacy" server browser) and boom, happy playerbase & profit.
What they did was "oooo skins make money, lets build a game around that!" and then release it in a broken, buggy, unbalanced state with a live service model that doesn't deliver. They doubled down on their design choices and the game is tanking so hard right now...
I was hoping after 45 days we'd get a decent update and some actual news or info instead of a phase 1 scoreboard mid/end february... Sigh... this game... it just... its kinda painful...- Twordy4 years agoSeasoned Ace
Sad times. Sad times. Devs must realize that they seem to cut the body (Conquest) and confuse an important organ (classes) with a tumor.
Again. The scoreboard is good enough in BF2 and 4. There is no need to reinvent the curvature of the wheel again. What DICE does is beyond comprehension. No deaths, no PING info, no division into teams. Just continuation of "safe-space" policy. Instead of teamwork points, there are only Revives that should count into one pool with Ammo supply and Heals also, possibly spotting and capturing points with teammates under the flag. Where is a teamwork element I am asking?
Seriously someone whos behind BF2042 right now does not understand anything about the series.
