Battlefield Portal - Changing of Sectors, flags, start position possible?

Hi,

with the tool of Battlefield Portal, we will be able to change the "logic" of the game and can create game modes by our own.

Does this mean we are also able to add/delete sectors and flags? (like a King of the Hill mode for an example)

Will we also be able to change the start locations?

  • There is no spatial editor within Battlefield Portal, our current focus is with the Battlefield Builder and Logic Editor and the ability for you to create you're own custom mode experiences through sliders, mutators and code. @CloudMcRip

    Hi @CloudMcRip ,

Yes we will be able to change many of those logic conditions you have in the game.  It is working as a script that the server keeps running in the background all the time during the game play round.  And then if any of the conditions are being met, then your specific event will be triggered to take effect.  These conditions can be based on generics in the game overall, for the team or even down to conditions/evets for the individual soldier in the game.

Regarding the game/map size, then you can edit those, within the range of the largest map as it exists.  and you can then define if you only want a subset of that to be available for your specific server.  I am not sure if you can define specifically the start location, as think they are by default simply the opposite ends of the map you have defined for the server.

  • So can we set the size of the playable map and the action route of the BOT through the logic editor?@EA_Atic

  • @Jesse165 Thank you for your answer, but I have another question. I saw in the official portal mode introduction video that they can divide a small area in a large map for play. If there is no spatial editor, how can they do it only by logic editor?

Having the ability to move flag points and spawns would've been awesome.
