BF 2042 takes 5th ranked game for PS5

With 456+ hours of playtime i think i am playing the game a lot and i am S066 lol and i have most weapons mastery 40 4 specialist and Nightbird and more than halfway into all other vehicles lolll

So yeah how are you doing in the game you dont play so far ?

I would not be able to play this game for more than an hour per day. I remember playing the beta - I could not stand this game longer than 1-2 matches because it felt like chores and was not fun at all for me personally. With Battlefield 1 and 5 I was able to enjoy longer sessions. 

Same for my friends - when I hang out on TeamSpeak with them to have a chat they are always disappointed and angry at the game. Even our clan leader who defended DICE all the time in the past and who has played older games for multiple thousand hours is done. There is simply nothing to defend - it is not about the bugs for the most part but rather for the poor decisions that were made. 

Even going free to play cannot save this game because players will not stay with this title. What sucks for long enough, finally becomes free to play. No matter how much money they will pump into the game, it will always be a disaster with a bad reputation. After year 1 which will drip feed lame content mainly consisting of skins that are already finished and just held back the game is over and support will end.

Whenever I read through a thread and I see the usual suspects names I just scroll past their posts without reading them. They don't have one original thought to share so it's better to not give them the time of day.

@Stew360 well if I look at the steam player count it was also never exactly alive except right after release. It had many players in the beginning and then dropped hard. It was never able to recover. The game had some peaks after the updates but was never able to hold players long-term.

So your example was actually quite good - Battlefield 2042 will share a similar fate. In my book 3000-6000 or even 10000 steam players are not a success, especially for an AAA-title like Battlefield. Also, Hello Games is a small developing studio - DICE on the other hand is a big studio with a different and more solid capital structure behind. I think that EA and DICE have bigger aspirations than this small studio. Moreover Battlefield is a series with a regular release scheme whereas the other title was a single release with no successor, that is also a big difference. 

EA and DICE will rather depreciate the game and develop a new one instead of putting a lot of passion and money in 2042 trying to save it for a handful of people. If a game's repetition is that bad it will never be repaired completely. Most players will not even care any more because they have moved on to other titles. 

@ZoikonWell shall we go back in time and see what the forums were saying about BF3 and 4 ? My memmory is outstandingly good and i remember every backlash complain balance issues , bugs name it from all past BF ..

Yet core BF2 community rejected BF3/4

You can´t read or do you have a bad memory? I just stated in an earlier post that I started with BF1942 and even played that competitive and moded it. I have played games from this franchise for 20 years.

They never said it out loud about being a copy of BF3/BF4 and I never claimed that, I said "successor" wich would imply the same core gameplay from those games with the improvements in movement, graphics and such from BF1 and BFV. Trailers used classic BF3/BF4 moments to lead us to believe it whas a true successor to those games while at the same time hiding the true gameplay.

@BlackidusAlso you joined in 2016 that BF1 era also you see BF4 as a gold standard lol please explain how BF4 was rock paper scissor and how the classes with the 2 cutumizable slots were rock paper scissor ? And taking in account you could grab anyones kit on the ground ?

Also here was the start of the mess that was BF4 BETA wich was as bad if not worst at launch

@Stew360 I'm convinced you truly don't like the game stew but are more interested in wracking up points on this forum, your a very active member for someone who plays so much. Game time doesn't mean anything, I could leave my console on for days on end and get that time.

Did the specialist skins are corny yes do i want one liner corny stuff remooved Yes .. But Plus system , specialist and loadout was a well needed change in BF and you dont see everyones with the same weapons or gadjets in 2042 there is all sort of poeoples with smgs , shotty , scouts , snipes , lmgs or melee all over the place so the range vs firepower etc.. is the same even better ... BF4 had 2 weapons Ace and Aek lol 😆
