BF 2042 year 1 pass

I have the year 1 pass /ultimate upgrade.

Is this the same as playstation plus pass?

I baught the pass thru battlefield 2042, assuming the pass was the same

But a sorts proxy thru the game that comes with benfits.

But my playstation account hasn't acknowledged the year one battlefield pass.

And keeps emailing stateing my original Ps plus (3 monthly) pass is going to run out, please renew soon to continue.

I actully only got the pass for BF 2042

All my other gmses dont require online passes.

Could anyone shed light on this for me.

Because I'm unsure if I've spent 54£ on somthing that's just for BF and unrelated to online play. Since there isn't any defining information with the BF pass.

Just talks about the skins content mostly.

I am sorry I might have to disappoint you there, as your BF2042 license with the year 1 pass (e.g. 4 seasons) is only for the EA/DICE BF game itself.
That game is only able to be played while having access to an online multiplayer platform and environment.
When you are on the Sony PlayStation (as I am also myself) then it takes that you maintain a subscription to the Sony PlayStation Network (PSN):
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/playstation-network/
This will give you access to the online multiple player environment through your PlayStation.

I may be misunderstanding but sounds like you bought the upgraded edition of battlefield the game which yes is something different to the ps plus. It's basically early access to content and some cosmetic but someone else can probably copy in the details.
So you may want to not download it and try and get a refund through playstation store help.
And then buy playstation plus subscription from playstation store instead to enable you to play online/get free games etc

Indeed; the Battlefield 2042 Year 1 Pass is for Battlefield 2042 only and gives you access to all content of Year 1, therefore it's called the Year 1 Battlefield 2042 Pass. What you need for your PlayStation to make use of online play is PlayStation Plus, something totally different and pretty much unrelated to Battlefield, as you need PlayStation Plus (online play) to play multiplayer games on a PlayStation console.
