Bf2042 free to play
Over the last few days I’ve seen news that this game will become a Free to Play, is this true ? I hope not after spending a lot of money on this game. Hopefully they can fix the problems the game h...

Seems like I made a good decision not to buy the game.

2042 has underperformed because EA allowed it to be released long before it was ready. The new vision on the franchise has caused them to shed players who are now either playing an older version of BF or have moved on to other shooters that have given people what they want. Several games are out that have moved in and are now taking away players from BF and give them a more realistic type of squadplay..
2042 seems to have been put together haphazardly. Upon release, there were too many features and not enough polish. Then Dice has to scramble to fix the game instead of concentrating on future updates and new content.
2042 was marketed as everything a lot of us players was asking for, but turned out to be everything that was wrong with BFV only taken much further.

2042 is genuinely the polar opposite of BFV in pretty much every way.

I remember posting, right after BF2042 was released, that it was a perfect time for other Intellectual Properties to hit the market and fill the vacuum caused by this failed launch and CoD's failure, this time around. Looks like they did, and they seem to be doing pretty well for non-AAA-sized studios.

This game has good points but sucks on so many more levels. It's really horrible.
- @k1u73 At least its "some" news... I mean, if the devs would at least share some more info on what to expect, aside from a work-in-progress scoreboard somewhere next month (lol)
Some stuff needs fixing ASAP: Hit reg, lag issues, drone abuse, weapon imbalances, attachment descriptions and their functions, matchmaking and map rotations for players etc etc@Daeyon-beI seem to feel they will.
Look at Rust for example. 3 years ago the game optimization was non existent even after 4 years since the games release. Not to mention bugs were still there.
The game updates every month but it took them 7 years to get the gfx right.
imo it just can’t happen overnight and at some point a game has to be released or time will pass it by…
