Bf2042 free to play
Over the last few days I’ve seen news that this game will become a Free to Play, is this true ? I hope not after spending a lot of money on this game. Hopefully they can fix the problems the game h...

2042 has underperformed because EA allowed it to be released long before it was ready. The new vision on the franchise has caused them to shed players who are now either playing an older version of BF or have moved on to other shooters that have given people what they want. Several games are out that have moved in and are now taking away players from BF and give them a more realistic type of squadplay..
2042 seems to have been put together haphazardly. Upon release, there were too many features and not enough polish. Then Dice has to scramble to fix the game instead of concentrating on future updates and new content.
2042 was marketed as everything a lot of us players was asking for, but turned out to be everything that was wrong with BFV only taken much further.

2042 is genuinely the polar opposite of BFV in pretty much every way.
- @Noodlesocks Well i love both BFV and Bf2042. I think these two are the best in the franchise. BF2042 needs fixing though. Not by removing specialists and adding scoreboard etc. Needs fixing lags and bugs.
@JOGAGATYAI am not sure how one can say that unless all they evaluate are graphics. These last two games went out of their way to take down the community aspect of the game with the private server denial of BFV and the removal of platoons and gutting of portal progression in BF2042.
The community aspect is so important, that it keeps alive even abandoned games of the franchise like BF2
- @Noodlesocks Basically I meant that BFV introduced idiotic skins such as the “Alien” gas mask cosmetics or the Phantom of the Opera guy. Then in BF2042 things were taken one step further by actually forcing you to select between a bunch of idiotic non-Battlefield-relevant characters; you can no longer just play as a “neutral/natural-looking” soldier.
- @VOLBANKER_PC But maybe because the characters have special abilities it is good that you can distinguish them by looks. You know immediately what you are up against when you run into them at a corner. Few of them could be more serious looking I agree but hey, the game is fun for me. It actually has a lot of entertaining value because it takes a lot of time to master all specialists. I think they could fix the silliness look of some characters and make better new maps in the future. Bring back the scoreboard and VOIP, fix bugs. They can turn this around. Let’s go DICE!
