Bf2042 free to play

Over the last few days I’ve seen news that this game will become a Free to Play, is this true ? I hope not after spending a lot of money on this game. Hopefully they can fix the problems the game h...

@Noodlesocks Well i love both BFV and Bf2042. I think these two are the best in the franchise. BF2042 needs fixing though. Not by removing specialists and adding scoreboard etc. Needs fixing lags and bugs.

@JOGAGATYAI am not sure how one can say that unless all they evaluate are graphics. These last two games went out of their way to take down the community aspect of the game with the private server denial of BFV and the removal of platoons and gutting of portal progression in BF2042.
The community aspect is so important, that it keeps alive even abandoned games of the franchise like BF2

  @UP_Hawxxeye I just don’t care much for progression and private servers etc. i play on the playstation. BFV and BF2042 is great on that platform. High entertaining value for me.
  I don’t care about skins and character customization either.

    EA/DICE needs to be very careful! No matter what trends they try to follow. Whether it be the Battle Royale or Free to play (Freemium) cash-cows. They're in danger of leaving a huge gap, even in a saturated market for a 'simcade' type military combined arms FPS shooter. If say Operation Flashpoint was to make a comeback or one of the many BF clones was to actually be a hit. Battlefield could simply be squeezed out of the market!
    As much as people want to call the hardcore BF fanbase niche, it covers the 18-40 male range and would be insane not to cater to it. They should never have gone the route they did with BF. It should stay the military, faction, squad based shooter and let other games be the BR/Hero shooters!
