I just played a bit of BFV and boy did it feel different. It's slower and feels more like battlefield. You run slower, you don't throw things as far. Things just feel more realistic. In BF2042, it's like you were injected with a super soldier serum. You can run fast and sprint endlessly. You can launch a grenade extremely far. It just feel super fast and unrealistic. I do enjoy the slowed down play style a lot more. Too bad BF2042 isn't like this
@AnaghyaIt might also depend on what gun you are carrying. I play both bfv and bf2042 yesterday. In bfv I was using Assault with a semiautomatic rifle. I ran very slow. I know running with an smg is a lot faster. In bf2042, I was using an lmg and I was running very fast like the weight of the weapon didn't matter. In bfv, based on my experience, the weight of the weapon matters. In bf2042, you should run slower based on the weapon you are carrying. I should not be able to carry a m60 and run has fast as someone carrying a k30.
@ZRuff46Sorry, first paragraph is my response for you, anything that follows is meant to be a blanket statement to the community or whoever is reading. I obviously didn't convey that well. I will not apologize for defending what I want from this game or being a little snarky about it. There's a way to start a discussion, this didn't feel like it started from an honest place though.
I'm passionate like everyone else here. The game has already been released and plays in a certain way. I don't want it to be change in the direction you're asking it to be. I'm going to push back on that sentiment every single time. I hate slow tactical shooters with a passion. Battlefield isn't one of those types of games.
All the movement speeds in BF2042 are based off of previous titles. The tactical sprint is actually just a touch slower than a speed perk in BF3/BF4 apparently. Where are you getting your data from exactly? Everything just sounds like it feels a certain way to you.

@ZRuff46That's only because of the traversal sprint though? The base run speeds are identical from what I can remember. I'll look it up when I get the chance. Feel free to do the same and include some numbers.
You make it sound like BF2042 is Quake, while BFV is Arma or something. I think it's a lot closer in speed than you're making out to be. I linked a bunch of references. Traversal sprint is faster, and BF2042 is the fastest, but only by a very slim margin. Again, it's ONLY because of the Traversal sprint.
Yes, BF2042 feels faster than BFV but isn't that a good thing considering the size of maps in BF2042.
