BF2042trial.exe can I delete?

Question

On PC in the folder where the game exe file is located, there is also a very large file named BF2042Trial.exe. I believe it is taking up space needlessly as I have the paid version of the game. I think it may be there because I tried the free play weekend before purchasing the game.

Can I delete the BF2042Trial.exe file without harming the game?

@CantGetRight That's crazy. EA should have a clean up script that runs to at least remove that large useless file. That's just shoddy or lazy work. At least COD Modern Warfare after a year provided a modification option to uninstall the game components that you don't want like campaign, certain modes, etc. to save you drive space. From the link you sent it looks like standard practice with EA to feel free to waste your HD space. Thanks

You can try the following to remove the file without causing an issue:&nbsp;

Rename&nbsp;&nbsp;BF2042Trial.exe to&nbsp;BF2042Trial.exe.old and continue to launch and play the game in your usual manner.

Reboot and retry playing to be sure all is well and if it is, you can delete the file.
