@CantGetRight Yeah and they did have bugs so deserved some criticism. None of them were anywhere near as bad as this dumpster fire. I played BF3 since the beginning it was always far more functional. And bugs are not the only issue, this game lacks basic features such as VOIP and scoreboard, and has a god awful specialist system in place of proper classes.

@UnCazualGamerAnd that is your opinion but the fact is all those games you listed were hated upon but are now praised. BF3 was missing features that BF2 had especially an in-game server browser. Sure there was battle log but everyone hated it. Also If you are on PC there is no native VOIP for BF3 PC, you'll have to use a third-party software like TeamSpeak3. There is a scoreboard in 2042.
No VOIP in BF3, people complained, so they put it in BF4 and no-one uses it

Not my lone opinion, most of the community agrees. They were not universally hated, nor to the same degree as this game, that's the difference. None of them have a rating this low. So at least BF3 has a server browser, and at least there was an option for VOIP. That game is over 10 years old, what is the excuse for a 2021 game having even less features? The "older games had complaints" excuse has zero merits whatsoever, because the issues with this game are far greater than anything we've seen in this franchise yet.
"There is a scoreboard in 2042."
A half assed one that doesn't show everyones score, what the hell is the point of that?
- 4 years ago@UnCazualGamer No not really the people that are enjoying the game are actually playing the game and not on a forum bitching and whining. And no the Steam numbers don't mean anything as they make up only a fraction of the player base. The current scoreboard is perfectly functional. I can see my deaths, kills, assists, and other things, and that's all that is needed. And you still have options like discord if you want to communicate just like BF3 had or did you miss what I wrote above about BF3 having no native VOIP.

@UnCazualGamer I played BF4 at launch and it was basically unplayable, an absolute train wreck. But after quite some time it was fixed and to some it is the best BF game made to date. As for 2042, I play on PS5 and while this game could use more fixes, tweaks and optimization, it is nowhere near the mess that BF4 was at launch. Maybe those of us on PS4/5 have less issues, I don't know. But it seems as though PC and X Box seem to have it worse.

@Chief2GFD BF4 was only a mess with bugs, not missing dozens and dozens of basic features and didn't try to imitate Call of Doo Doo Warzone like this game. It was getting at least 6 / 10 reviews in the very beginning, not the paltry 2 and 3s that this mess is getting.
BF4 was worth fixing, that's the biggest difference and what these types of comparisons fail to account for.
