BFV had its moments...not good, not bad. but still waaaaaaaaaay better then this empty shell.
Oh the irony!
I remember when BFV was the death of Battlefield.....

@Trokey66 I mean back then we could not know that the ship could sink even deeper. Just because we say that Battlefield 5 is more of a Battlefield than 2042 does not make it a perfect game. Battlefield 5 launched horribly, there were lots of bugs and a lot of game breaking issues. But in the end the game managed to be patched in a solid state - it was a long way tho. But all this could only happen because a big part of the Battlefield scaffold was still present in the core design. I do not see the same thing happening with 2042 because the basis is flawed. You cannot fix a game with a base that does not represent the franchise. And certainly you cannot base a Battlefield universe on it.
- 3 years ago@Trokey66 Yes, but even then it was pointed out that this point of view would probably change after the release of the next BF.

@UP_SunnyTheWolfIt is said after every release and will continue to be the same going forward.....
I seem to remember BF1 getting similar treatment because of the theme, female Russians and black Germans. And this is before we get into Behemoths and elites!
- 3 years ago@Trokey66 To be fair, if 2042 had clan/platoon support and a way to host a persistent server for our community, I could accept the game for what it is and play it - as it is now I haven't played it since before Christmas, and I likely won't in the near future.
I couldn't care less about stuff like female models etc of past releases and I could even accept the absence of the "legacy functions" and existence of the new specialist system if only there was community support in and around the game.
