Boris turret is useless.
Boris turret is pointless. It takes an eternity to start shooting yet stops almost instantly. If about as durable as a paper bag in a lite shower of rain. A mean what’s the point in playing him?? Oh ...
It's effective as a distraction. It's an assistant. It shouldn't be doing the work for you.
If the enemy engages with it then they're giving away their position. They are distracted. There's value in that.

Something being made much slower to progress than it was at an earlier point? Cut down part of the numbers needed to get to mastery 40. It is the fair thing to do for those who do not jump the bandwaggon early

The only game mode that Boris is actually useful is TDM, if you play solo and need to be alerted when a duo or quad team tries to flank from the side or behind. That is the only place you can level it to T1 before your 90th birthday...😛
The irony is the latest 2.1 patch "fixed" the turret being able to fire through smoke...🤔...which was the only way to keep it from getting shot and destroyed instantly. NOW the only chance to get any real damage is place the turret at height, and baby-sit it constantly as it will get destroyed otherwise...and what fun is that, really??? Drop, hide, let it shoot once, pick it up, drop, hide, let it shoot once, pick it up...🤔
I'd say at this point replace the damn thing with another device (hint flamethrower!!! 👿) or give it more armor and reaction speed as it seems cruel for those trying to T1 Boris to lock them out of that achievement...
