Boris turret is pointless. It takes an eternity to start shooting yet stops almost instantly. If about as durable as a paper bag in a lite shower of rain. A mean what’s the point in playing him?? Oh no wait you’ve forced us to use either him or crawford awful mini gun turret to complete a weekly mission. Just pointless.

What do you expect? They nefed it to hell due to people crying about it!

@AngrySquid270 The issue, I can imagine for many, is that his entire mastery is dependent on it doing damage... of which it does less now than it did at launch (and is easier to destroy), but they didn't change the requirements either.

@Tank2042ManUsually I agree with you Tank, on this case the nerfs to the sentry gun went too far. Make it weaker, sure. Make it delay shooting longer, sure. Reduce the damage? Sure. Do all three at the same time? I’ve got him at T2 and eventually abandoned him. It’s handy for spots for a little bit, but getting kills with it is so incredibly random and rare, it’s just not worth it IMO. The OP is correct.

His "Blast Proof" helmet is also useless. I see they've not bothered to fix the equip function in the latest update or the plethora of placement issues with the turret. It is refreshing to know they did fix (quote)" bullet decals not looking realistic on a painting in the C3 sector" though. That was everyone's top priority no doubt.

@BolvardThe turret "Wall hacked" one player at a time. Paik "Wall hacks" unlimited players at at time. But yes you have to push a single button to activate Paik's "ability", and all it takes to activate the auto-turret is 5 seconds to find a perfectly level spot to drop, pray it doesn't explode instantly, and take 2 seconds to drop it while being shot at, then watch a sniper one shot destroy it instantly...super cool "ability"...🤔I'd agree the "orange wall hack" was too much for the auto-turret. Yet instead of just removing that part, Dice did the following:1. Slowed the response time of the turret to target enemies2. Reduced the spotting distance drastically to a very short range3. Removed the "orange spotting" and replaced it with basically nothing4. Reduced the shot damage to where you can only get killed if you stand in front of it for 10 or more seconds with full health.5. Slowed the drop speed6. Slowed the pickup speed7. Reduced the circle diameter that is supposed to increase its power if you stand inside it8. Reduced the locations the turret can drop on almost all maps, especially at height9. Made T1 near impossible for all players who have not leveled Boris yet10. Recently nerfed the turret so it can't fire through smoke at all so now it magically has no infrared military technology like Paik still utilizes on unlimited targets.Could do this all day and yes I get it Boris was a little too OP once...but did we need a dozen nerfs when really the only issue was "auto-Paik" orange glow spotting ability???Dice "Operation Nerf" successful, character dead...🤭

@Tank2042Man It does need a balance between performance and the stats required for T1. It did need a nerf when the game was new, and as usual they swung it too far. Usually that gets a slight buff back once it’s realized it’s too far, which never happened in this case. If it wasn’t a challenge, I’d have probably not cared. Now I remember how bad the turret is and I care again lol.

People talk like this turret somehow moves and engages you lol, it takes YOU to trigger it so maybe people should take a look around.
The run and gun cod players can’t be having someone actually using tactics and placing a turret in a good tactical spot!

It takes something like a 800% damage server for this turret to be threatening.
Meanwhile the Crawford turret can even be used as makeshift cover from the holes of which you can snipe though instead of manning the turret.

@emerson1975 The irony is the Boris auto-turret is the only item I've found to slow down the "COD run and gun" type you mentioned in TDM from running constant circular flanks in groups of 2 and 4 and steam rolling solo players who don't have three mates 24/7 to watch their back and revive them, etc.

Ironic how some gamers call the auto-turret a "crutch" as they run the maps with 2-3 buddies 3 feet from them at all times. The ultimate challenge is playing solo, usually forced on a substantial number of gamers due to responsibilities from the game of life. Dice hurt solo players by nerfing Boris into oblivion...as nothing else can watch your back other than robo-puppy...

I got Boris to T1 pre-nerf, and even though it is cool that almost nobody has the black helmet and outfit, it really isn't fair for those who want it now as it was not easy to T1 Boris pre-nerf, and will take forever now.

For example, I T1ed both stealth helis in less than three weeks, T1 bolte in less than two weeks. T1 50 cal sniper in less than one week. But Boris took 3 months and it was painful and took some tactics and deep thinking on my part as to how to deploy it effectively. I'd write a tips and tricks for players but due to the super nerf, it would not help.

Dice knows Boris needs some attention so I suspect some small buffs are coming, else they need to reduce the requirements for T1 to make it fair...

All this talk about it being an "aim bot" and a "crutch" or "cheat" or whatever IMO is horse puckey. It spots one person on the mini map, (not wall hacked) and then takes an eternity to fire at that person and does little to no damage. Ok so it spots you...big freakin deal. There are 10000000 ways to get spotted in this game. No one is railing to nerf Casper and he can have the entire enemy team spotted at once. Those that are yelling about the spotting ability being OP are probably the ones running and gunning and getting spotted and slowed down or killed. If spotting one person ON THE MINI MAP is OP, then you all better stop firing your weapons in game. That's OP too because it spots you and Casper has zero chance. The truth is that probably a large percentage of your deaths are happening when you're spotted in some way or another...
The real issue here is that it takes an act of congress to get any damage with it and it'll be 2042 before you can get him to T1...

Comparing it to the Casper drone is straight up stupid, if everyone would play casper and play in their drone all game you will lose the game, if everyone plays Boris and place their turret and camp next to it they have a pretty good chance of winning especially on breakthrough defense. Also you actually need human inputs for the drone, the turret is ALWAYS watching and WILL spot you no matter how sneaky you are if you are in 65m range of the turret
If the problem is the mastery they should change the mastery, not make the game a chore to play so that acheivement hunters can feel proud of themselves for literally letting the game play itself
The people in this thread need to get a grip on reality, stop crying and get good
The turret is simply a * idea to put in an FPS like battlefield and anyone who doesn't recognize this is stupid
