Brainstorming Gadget Suggestions

I was trying to come up with distinctive futuristic traits for the classes for the main feedback thread, but instead landed on a bunch of gadget ideas that may be better of in Apex Legends (if they're not already in there, I guess). I found it particularly hard to separate Assault or Medic ideas that felt like they belonged to other classes.

I figure perhaps one way to come up with useful ways to distinguish classes is to brainstorm gadget ideas. Maybe in the process we can come up with some more good default traits for the class system, so that classes might get to choose from more than one.

I've tried to place the worst ideas that are the most rage inducing at the bottom of each list, and I apologise in advance for the irritation. Please do suggest alternatives.

Recon

  • Mirage - Thrown device, creates static or moving decoys on the minimap in vicinity.
  • Overwatch - Active monitoring of an area via remote camera. Planted device, can be used via mini-display that can be held up with a sidearm.
  • Cloaker - Planted device, masks spotting on minimap.
  • Spider Grip - Magnetic or sharp claws make it possible to climb surfaces, or 'stick' to vehicles better. Slow alternative to Mackay's grapple in Assault.

Assault

  • Echo Scatter - Thrown device, scatters tiny audio devices that stick to surfaces and create bullet noises and footsteps, confusing audiophiles.
  • Stims - Momentary boost in color perception, perhaps similar to heat perception.
  • Stims - Momentary boost in running speed, lowers accuracy, lowers speed for a duration after expiry.

Medic/Support

  • Stims - Momentary boost in health, which turns into a slight drop afterwards.
  • Globber - Must be attached to multiple surfaces so takes time to set up, but then sticky-blocks a small passage until meleed repeatedly or burnt. Highly flammable. Can't be placed within a short distance of previous web for x duration due to stickiness of surfaces already being compromised.

Engineer

  • Tune up - Provides speed or handling boost. Could be two different modes of gadget.
  • Plating - Armor reinforcements. Perhaps must be manually placed on vehicle and provide protection of a specific region. Only partially reduces damage from a single missile before being destroyed, but does block bullets. Can't be placed over view.
  • Glooper - Sticky webbing that slows ground vehicle movement until cleared by repairs or driven off over time.
  • Curver - Small magnetic shield that can be activated to attract bullets but also projectiles. Curves their arc towards itself - not as good as a big shield, but is mobile. Can be used to shield surfing to slide down slopes faster (for CQC).

Why did I write this?

It's a trap. I'm trying to be positive instead of grumbling about how they need to decrease player count so we can start servers in Australia. Maybe I'll get lucky and a dev will stumble across this one line and then make it happen. The lower player count, I mean - the gadgets are a pipe dream and I'm sure they have plenty of ideas already.
