I don't even know why this was removed while adding a "hacked" helm visor instead. When you're being shot at, and pullets fly by you or hit close to your head, you should be suppressed. It's one of the few ways that you could counter a sniper when trying to run across cover-less areas. It was a great use in other games, so it really makes no sense why it was taken out while increasing the amount of empty space a sniper can hit you in. Bring back blurry suppressed vision!

Blur the vision maybe, but the spread penalty can stay in the past.Having your bullets go somewhere other than where the crosshairs are indicating feels just awful.

I will pass. This game needs too many core adjustments and fixes before adding another variable into the equation. The last thing I need after my rubber bullets is a blurry screen as I am killed instantly.

@cso7777 I don’t feel like snipers are that big of deal. Even at long distances. The only time I really notice people sniping is when I’m getting countered because I’m also sniping. My experience might be different though.I definitely agree with what you’re saying about map design. That’s probably the biggest factor. All the reworks and new maps seem to have that in mind with their design.

@Ice_Snipers at extreme ranges are due to bad map-design.Dice needs to make the maps much less 'sniper-friendly' by designing them differently. For many games there are 'sniperspots' on most maps, and this encourages that playstyle.We need the maps to be more like apex-legends maps, where you have 'areas' where the fighting appears, instead of these large open maps with sightlines from one end to the other.

@Kyosji Under normal circumstances I’d agree with you. I hated suppression when it was first introduced, eventually got used to it and was able to use it to my advantage. In 2042 though, with such a long bug list and improvements needed, we may need to forgo it. Besides, can you imagine how bad it would be done on release and how long it would take them to fix it? They’d be * down the servers by then. Hopefully see a version of it in the next game.

@Kyosji Please no. I can understand why you’d want it with the example of the sniper. In practice it sucks, and I don’t want to look at a blurry screen with more visual clutter than there already is.

Closing the gap on a sniper should be running cover to cover. Taking quick shots at them. If you land shots, it should flinch the sniper off target.

I’m not sure if there’s much flinch, or any at all sometimes, because as I’m unloading into a snipers face they’ll still hit some crazy headshot. The point is, if anything, flinch is the better mechanic. Suppression with 128 players sounds horrible.

I have to say I'm not a fan of Suppression in Battlefield, I know i was a fan of it when I was younger. Because I like using LMG in Battlefield, so anything to give me advantage.

What would be a better compromise is to have some actual concealment in game. There is NO where you can sit and not be seem spotted snooped or just glitch into someone seeing you...and then there is no escape

@Echo6EchoYou’re not supposed to be able to completely hide in a bush or anything. You can hide behind objects with out being spotted by another player. Proxies and the scan obviously can still spot you though. Battlefield has never been about complete stealth, but you can be sneaky.

I think the game works really well right now with how spotting works. I think what would be a good compromise is having a hardcore mode maybe? It never seems to be that popular, but It usually has a dedicated following though.

Battlefield works best as a faster pace sandbox Arcady war game. I feel like it really has that down and no other game really delivers at that pace with tight gameplay. There are a ton of games that try to be more “hardcore” like Squad, EFT, Hell let loose, insurgency… the list goes on. I don’t want to move at a snails pace checking every possible corner.

More cover and detailed maps are coming starting August.

@Kyosji I want supression back too.
As an LMG guy it's annoying as hell to have a duel with a sniper where I hit the first shots and all he has to do is to get behind cover so his gun is reloaded and strafe out zoomed in and shoot me in the head with no penalty to aiming what so ever.

I really liked the suppression assists in BF4 and earlier games.
