This topic was already addressed in previous battlefields and C5 should not be allowed on drones in the new one. I can't find the exact patch notes, but wiki have recorded this:

- During the beta, the MAV was able to carry C4 for use in a C4 UAV attack, and carry other soldiers (similar to the drone elevator exploit). The C4 carrying ability was removed in the retail version (as with similar behaviors with the EOD Bot). The C4 packs will simply not stick to the device. The soldier carrying abilities were patched later in the March 1.04 update.
I've seen many people post about this issue and is often met with others who claim that you can attach in previous battlefields. I have 2000 hours between BF 3 and 4, and you cannot place c4 on MAVs.
Slow vehicles like tanks cannot effectively push points while a c4/drone combo can one shot them.
let me guess you play Tank or Bolte only?
Also, you can spot the drone with another drone, proximity sensor, soflam your eyes
ranger automatically attack drones
Also, with the next patch the drone gets more visibility and a bigger hit zone but they make it faster also ^^
Except the real exploit in Breakthru c5 + drone is for me a legit strategy

One of the limitations of the c5/drone combo is the drone operator range, and the only viable tactic is for tanks to sit in the back and hope the drone operator isn't close enough. The current c5/drone combo is promoting tank farmers.
Your saying its a legit strategy? its a low skilled strategy that ANYONE even my grandma could do. And I like how you assume he is a vehicle player. Let me guess you been farmed by vehicles?
Regardless, c5 on drone is 100 percent exploit and should be nerfed/removed.
If they wont remove this exploit it, they should at least minimize the damage effects. It shouldn't be allowed to blow up an entire tank that easily.
