I couldn't agree more. C5 Drones are absolute BS for any vehilce driver. And anyone defending it, is just denying the fact that its unbalanced.
I saw people mentioning that you need two people to control the drone. One to call the explosion and one to fly the drone. This information is WRONG WRONG WRONG.
You can just put on C5 on the drone by yourself, and fly it into a tank. You don't even need to trigger it. The drone just has to ram the tank and it causes the explosion.
It is the biggest BS ever seen and it allows no hand players to actually be rewarded for something that is just plainly braindead.
When I look at BF4's C4 Jeeps, these were fine. You could SEE them and actually SHOOT them. The driver of the Jeep had to be smart and use his brain to find a flank on the tank.
There I won't complain as its 100% my fault that I just died there. I could have looked around and tried to take the Jeep out as it offers enough area to shoot at.
While the drone on the other hand DOESN'T. You can barely see it, especially in the middle of battle. It is quite mobile which makes it difficult to hit and it can approach from an impossible angle in which neither the driver or the gunner can actually shoot the drone.
Even if a tank is camping on a mountain, you can still shoot it with rockets, SOFLAM lock-on, etc., etc. in which the driver can at least react.
Don't tell me that it is balanced or requires skill. I literally sat down on a corner on renewal and bombed 9 tanks away by just simply ramming the drones into the tanks.
If it was the LATV/Jeep of BF2042 I would not complain as there again just like in BF4, the driver has to be smart + I have enough area to shoot at.
At the moment, each time I drive a tank, I have to constantly look around and move around for the drones and even then sometimes they just outmaneuver you and kill you anyways. SO that isn't a guarantee. I jump out of the tank to shoot the drone with my AR and voila I got headshot and my tank is now empty.
Then there is comments that I should just 50 cal the drones from a far. My guy, Im driving a tank. I want to be in the heat of battle. I want to be able to react on enemy projectiles and infantry and not a minimalistic small drones that I can barely see. I won't stand 50 miles behind my team to snipe down drones.
They just should simply remove the ability to stick C5 to the drone or limit the amount of C5 the drone can carry.
@Ascension_Api
A drone icon flashing on the screen warning you there is one in the vicinity would be nice, that way your gunner has time to shoot it down. I'd be nice to know how many kills the community are actually getting from this. I personally haven't noticed it happen that much on the battlefield because of all the chaos. I guess you would notice it more often as a tank driver itself.

Let me tell you as a solo player and tank driver that 75% of the time I'm driving around in a tank I don't even have a single gunner let alone a full crew. And when I do have one they're usually too busy using the mini-gun to shoot at a heli half way across the map and revealing our location to pay attention to danger close.C5 is fine, C5 sticking to drones in a game mode like breakthrough where everyone is concentrated on a couple of points is not.
- 4 years ago@EA_Blueberry are you serious? Maybe you just not aware its a drone////
breakthrough is a wash with people doing this.. Pretty much every tank I have spawned as attacker has been taken out by c5 drone spam - 4 years ago
90% of the Gunners I get in my tank can't even hit a stationairy Jeep, so how can I rely on them shooting down mini drones?
This "feature" shouldn't be a thing, its that simple. There are enough ways to take out vehicles already, and the drones are compared to the other means completely frustrating as the drone pilot doesn't have any consuquence. If someone runs at me with C5 I can drive away and try to shoot him.
if I get hit by rockets I can put down my smoke and drive to cover.
If I see another tank I can try to outmaneuver him in cover and peak around it.
Enemy jets and Helos I simply drive back, jump out pick up my AA Missile Launcher and scare them off long enough.
^
All of these things require an interaction from the player and aall harbor a certain risk. The C5 runner can easily get shot.
Rocket Launchers can be avoided and the enemies have to come forward.
Jets and Helos can simply be shot down if they don't maneuver correctly and use their flares properly.
Tanks have to constantly check their surroundings for threats, while battling the opponent.
Drones? What do I do. I am in the middle of battle, explosions everywhere and a * with a drone sneaking under my tank from behind.
It harbors 0 risk for the pilot as when the drone goes down he just waits for the auto replenish and runs to a Angel Loadout Box to get his C5 back and here we go.

In the BF2042 reddit there is a post of a guy doing the C5 drone trick to the same INFANTRY soldier 4 times in one match as revenge. If you can identify and then sneak up to kill the same person over and over when they are on foot just think how much easier it is to do to a large vehicle that hardly has any usable cover, can't look/shoot straight up, and can't dodge in all directions like you can on foot.

Ah man, I get taken out a lot by a player with C5 whilst I'm driving a tank. It's annoying. But what's more annoying is that I'm the one who is driving the tank and I as well as my passengers should be aware of our surroundings. Remember, you're a big target if you're in a tank. Be aware of your surroundings, OP. Get "gud".
