Campaign Mode (Hear Me Out)
So I know people have mentioned a campaign before, preferably single-player and story driven, but its incredibly unlikely that will ever happen.
However, something I think they could do without considerable expenditure is a campaign multiplayer mode. That is, a mode that combines elements of the original 1942, and the campaign of Titanfall 1. Modes that have more character dialogue, or lines and plot from NPC characters like the command and control types you already have in the game. Add a little video link in the upper HUD corners when they're speaking (you can even use one of the existing bot models for the factions and you don't even have to animate facial movement).
Add more lore or background to the 'mission' of the map you're playing as you're loading in, or apply a briefing of sorts to it. Expand on what there is already. Add in additional timed cinematic elements, like the A-10 run that used to open up some of the BC2 maps, or something like the TV mast collapse on Caspian, or even the rocket launch on Orbital (I still wonder what the giant explosion on Manifest was meant to be in the original trailer). Throw in little timed side missions like a bot helicopter crashing and you have to recover something (like the data drives from HZ) for extra points, or securing a console/computer terminal in one of the little container huts that lets you call in a one time strike, or gives a short scan of the entire minimap.
Make teamwork and playing the objective pay off with bonuses and point accumulation. Give squad leaders call in points and abilities like BFV. But a big thing about those lines of dialogue is having the speakers motivate the team. Some people really need to be told what to do in order to win. Make winning the round drop a double points bonus. Have the characters say things like: 'We're losing objective C2. If you don't get over there and defend it, you aren't making buck, No-Pat.' Put up little 'new objective' lists on the screen.
You could even have call options be limited to how much of the map a team controls, but also in terms of what is available. For example: 'We don't have enough control points. We cannot waste assets on a failing mission. Pick it up!' At the same time, to stop one team just thumping the other, limit how much they can call in, or put them on cooldowns. 'All assets expended at this time. You're on your own.'
Also, above all, have a server run through all of the 2042 maps chronologically like the 1942 'campaign' did.
Make this mode far more immersive than the rest, and make it pay off. I really doubt it'll happen, but it'd be nice if it did.
