Can devs consider changing the kill-feed info visual effects?

I've watched the beta trailer, I saw there's only an icon and enemy ID in the middle, and score information has been moved to our right side. I hope this is not the final look of it...

I mean, this design is obviously weird when we compare it to previous BF games. The kill-feed is really good in BF 3,4,1 and 5 except for 2042... Especially in 1 and 5, this part is really great. The current 2042 gameplay looks empty when I killed somebody, which the visual experience is not good. I felt excited and satisfied in previous games when I saw much score info in the middle when I killed many enemies. I have no idea why this part has a nonnegligible retrogression in the new game, so I personally think devs could consider this part for better visual effects. I personally think just keep this part as previous BF games performances, which will be very okay. However, I hope devs will make some improvements on this part. Appreciate your work!

  • Hello @OceanTse

This is something Devs are aware of and want to improve more... We will see how it will change after Beta that is happening early next week. 🙂

  • @OceanTse totally agree on that. 🙌

We don't know yet what the Team will still change on this, but hopefully they're listening to the feedback of the community.

As i saw many people mentioned that kill feed position and style already.

Or maybe at least they can give us some UI adjustments we can do, so everyone could decide where to move the kill feed to on your screen + adjust the colors of it.

    Would be great to see.

    Greets,

I also don't like the current version of kill feed in Battlefield 2042, but afaik devs are working on improving kill feed and as far as I know we will probably see changed kill feed in the release version of the game. Anyway, the team is already getting feedback on this.

Good to hear that. Hope devs will make some improvements on that.

  • @OceanTse I am fairly sure there have been UI adjustments in previous games that included your suggestions… we will see though.
  • The HUD in general could do with a complete overhaul. I figured it was all placeholder but I get the impression it's what they're going with as finished version.

I'm reminded of the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

It isn't necessary to reinvent the wheel with every new edition. Some things work, so keep them intact. Some things don't, and that is when you reach the "area of opportunity" for improvement. Of course, no one wants to play the exact same game with every new version, but there are some things that are fundamental to a good FPS.

As long as it creates a great experience that the vast majority of people will want to enthusiastically return to and enjoy, that's the sweet spot. I say "majority," because you're never going to please every single person in a sea of millions.

I'm just waiting for the beta, so we can all see it, firsthand, and give our constructive feedback.

Yes, you got the point! They should not make this retrogressive, do not change it,  just keep it as previous work, and we'll appreciate that.
