@DingoKillrEntirely different direction of gameplay in that the old school battlefields resembled more war type combat. It was a little slower and you felt like you were more in battles. Love or hate BF1, now THAT game had great immersion and combat type feel to it. Now it looks like we have much faster gameplay with grappling hooks, specialists with their gadgets, and weapons that look and sound very COD like. Heck when I heard Maria Falke's voice in the gameplay trailer, if I closed my eyes I would swear that I was listening to an Overwatch trailer. They've gone a bit more gimmicky IMO and the latest gameplay trailer just showed some run and gun stuff. To be fair we've only seen some brief glimpses of gameplay but from what I saw seems they've really gone in an opposite direction from what made Battlefield great to begin with in terms of warlike combat and feel.
I loved BF1 I had hoped it would have been supported for another 2 years, instead DICE had been convinced that the community wanted a hardcore competitive play.
Over the last few years all I heard from this community was moaning. We need a BC2, BF3 or BF4 remake. My issues with BF4 was aircraft being OP and lack of focus on the player flexibility, customization and movement, and the list goes on.
I think BF2042 is going back towards BF4 and things like wingsuit, specialist, ➕ system vehicle drop are a step in the right direction fixing the problems BF4 has.
I am more concerned with no naval battles.
This not a new direction it is going back to the old and fixing it.
