You're right, that was something I discovered when researching Xbox's. However the game would still only run at 60fps, (and perhaps still have v-sync?). Even that would be an improvement though. I've got a PS5, and it's unfortunate that those aren't features that Sony feels are worth implementing.

The reason VRR will probably lower input lag on Xbox by setting the monitor refresh rate to 120Hz is because v-sync lag is reduced when the monitor refresh rate is higher than the game's framerate.
The same thing would happen if DICE unlocked the framerate on PS5. The PS5 would set the monitor refresh rate from 60Hz to 120Hz.
If the monitor refresh rate is set to 60Hz then v-sync lag is only reduced if the game's framerate dips below 60fps.
