My belief: All the content for this game was already created by December when they broke the S1 content into 4 seasons. The next 3 maps, one per season, are already done, and they were all built from the original Hero Shooter concept and converted from BR to the current game modes at the last minute.
So I doubt we will see an actual new CQC map in BF2042. However, there is a chance we will see Metro or Locker in Portal (and potentially in AOW at some point).
Cant wait for Metro or Locker with 128 players to melt down all computers all over the world, because the game just can't handle the amount of players.
One or two Close Quarters maps would be good, the more variety the better imho.
It would be good to have the option to get away from the larger maps / vehicles every now and again, I always liked being able to do that in previous BF's.
Personally dislike really close quarters maps, it leads to repetitive corridoor peek a boo gameplay.
But would definitley like some more urban maps. Strike at Karkand, Sharqi Pennisula for portal would be a start
Not sure this new team could create a decent close quarters maps so better they just remix the old ones
