Cant add New-Gen Xbox friends from PC

Question

Me and my friends are having issues playing to together.

I am on PC and my friends are on new gen Xbox, but despite that we cant add each other. When they search for my EA ID nothing comes up, but when I look for their Xbox gamertag their names appear and I can send them a friend request. But they don't receive anything. I even tried to connect my xbox account, where I have them added, and it didn't even import my friends into EA.

Is there a solution to this?

@Mercobtw The first thing which popped in to my head to check is if you've confirmed with your friends that they are playing the Series S/X version rather than the Xbox One version?

Edit: Just searched for your EA ID on the old gen version and you don't show up, whereas you do in the other version, so at the moment I'm leaning towards this being the reason your friends can't find you.

@Mercobtw  They may well be, but I think they're running the wrong version of the game. Have they checked that it's the Series S/X version they have installed? You're also welcome to DM me their Xbox gamertag (don't post it in the thread just to be safe), and I can see if I can find them on the current gen version.
