Changing load outs in game

What are your thoughts on changing load outs in game? To me it seems counter to the whole point of a load out in the first place. Especially for Angel.

If I can have access to all weapons, gadgets, and loadout combinations, in game, while I am alive, why even have a loadout limit in the first place?

I'm with you here. I've wondered why you can change loadouts mid-stroke as it were. Ammo crates give you ammo for your main and alt along with a grenade, underbarrel and some gadget ammo. Maybe you get weapon ammo and a hand grenade from an ammo crate, but need Angel for everything else? Only a reload of that sort of thing and NOT a reclass? I mean most just use it to refill recoiless ammo anyway...

@Echo6EchoI thought at first the loadout you had were the only combination of items you could have while playing. Then obviously found out you could edit them during the round to whatever you wanted. So outside of an initial quick selection, there is very little additional benefit.

Honestly? I like it. It allows you to be able to flow with the gameplay, especially if you are in a good communicating squad. We can be pushing and doing well then have chopper pressure, allowing us to switch to AA to take out a threat or whatever, instead of needing to redeploy, wasting a ticket, and hoping to be able to spawn back with the squad again.

@Anobix you can already do that with preset loadouts. I am talking about the fact that you can even change those preset loadouts in game on the fly, and if you are near an Angel crate, you don't even need to redeploy to take advantage of it.

So I like loadouts, but I feel like they should be locked during the game, otherwise they are almost pointless because it only takes a few seconds to change the items in loadout.

Compare it to the T system. Can you change the scopes or ammo in game if it is already not setup in your T system?

On the PS5 it’s awefull. The whole UI is totally counter intuitive, upside down on the trigger controls. And quite frankly the worst UI I’ve experienced in a long time.

In the heat of battle it’s atrocious.

I pretty much gave up changing roles because it was so painful.

There are tonnes of ways they could fix it.

    1. allow users to specify load outs that lock specialists  weapons and equipment. First tier selection should cycle through those.

    2. second tier selection might allow you to cycle through different equipment load outs.

    3. edit mode. Let’s you deep dive into loadout configuration.

in stead you half obscure chacter /weapon selection. Which are mapped to the weirdest key combinations on the ps5 .

editing weapon mode is the. Just bizarre again on the controller mappings.

then On top of that, you are never quite sure what you are editing or selecting.

half the time I come out having selected the weirdest unwanted meta nonsense.

This was another reason I simply couldn’t enjoy playing

in bf4 on the other hand I constantly change class to suit the mode of battle. And quite often I switch up the mechanic between air and ground equipment. Possibly 6-10 times I’ll switch class.  In bf2942 it was bad I just didn’t bother..
