I'm prepared to give it a go. I started playing the franchise with BF2, so not such a shock to the system for me. I just hope that the player base doesn't decline any more - I'm finding it hard to find games, as it is.
Ultimately, I agree. The game has been out for over a year at this point. While I and many others missed the Class system, the way this particular entire game was designed, including maps, gadgets, vehicle counts, and of course specialists and their 'abilities'. Including the lack of squad benefits like in previous BF games, etc don't necessarily fit it.
As you said, I enjoy BF games overall and have played most of them in various quantities since 1942, but I truly don't expect this change, this late, to bring back a significant percentage of the population that has moved on for one reason or another other than for maybe a weekend.
