Equipping vault weapons to battlefield 2042 character classes

The vault weapons are the ones from BF3 or 4 -- do you have any unlocked ??

I have a bunch unlocked.  I go to the collection, I switch eras, I select a weapon but the specialist or class that it pairs with if also from the previous eras and I'm unable to use the loadout in a 2042 map, I'm only able to use the class specialists from 2042 paired with a weapon from 2042.

It might be worth just editing your loadout in a match or by editing the Specialist in the main menu. The collection won't assign it to a Specialist if memory serves.  

Hmm - I don't switch eras :: I choose which specialist I am going to use for the next game : click on their Primay weapon (which then shows me my 'collection' and then select a vault weapon)

example - LMG, I have 5 to choose from : Assault = 7 :: they are at the bottom of list, so scroll down

Should add - I'm on PC if that makes a difference...

You can switch to vault weapon before the match starts or set the class with it in menu (before going into game type queue), but only if it shows in the 2042 era collection under vault, (if you are using 2042 specialists), and most vault in 2042 era list are locked if you are running a new acct also . . . some BF 3, 1942 BC 2 weapons doesn't show in 2042 vault (devs didn't put them in 2042 pool)  but they will show if you are playing on an era map on default (But you get that era's classes tho) .
