@UP_Hawxxeye Classes were NOT a correction. It was a mistake to add a dated and retired concept. What worked then doesn't mean it works now. Especially when we paid for a game we liked only to see it ruined by those who would hold the franchise back.

Here is my own subjective opinion
While I was never perfectly happy with classes in the past due to the weapon restrictions, I am finally happy with the way they re introduced the classes in 2042.
Battlefield like you said is a franchise and franchises have defining characteristics that got to be respected, less they lose the appeal of the franchise brand.
The original 2042 has a legion of franchise violations already. When you go to a Kentucky Fried chicken, you expect breaded fried chicken and not breaded and fried crickets.
If the game is not running optimally with classes right now is partly due to needed more rebalancing to make all classes good enough, it also needs players to adjust to it after learning to play in another way
- @UP_Hawxxeye It's not so much the classes as the BS restrictions that damaged the game so much. You don't rewrite the game a year after its launch, that's why we all left.
Nah that's wrong. Games are allowed to grow and evolve. Classes are not a critical part of the formula, it's the game modes, the infantry vs vehicles. If you want a game that stays the same for 20 years and never improves go try CoD.
Ah but see, KFC has a lot more on the menu besides breaded chicken. They can try new things to bring new customers. If some like the old, they still have the old. Go play BF3/4.
After what they did it'll never have balance again. Touch one thing and 50 more things break. They need to undo everything since Feb and move slowly from there.

I actually tried going back to BF3, but the problem is that they never nerfed the jets there and there is only some level 100 colonel pilots messing everyone else up.
