Sadly, the game is EOL, it is doubtful any new map types will be released or any changes except Maintenace and fixes. - @ro7hbard No more content will come. The staff still on this game will only do bug fixes and we were promised some portal vehicles to come to AOW, but that’s gonna be it.
Keep your eyes peeled for infantry only game modes that might come in the weekly rotation though as it seems that’s what you’re after. If you read my comment, I am not asking for new maps, I am suggesting adding two existing maps to the close quarters game type, that will not take any more development.
- @ro7hbard Yes and you also mention Flashpoint which is anything but a close quarters map. Same goes for Spearhead.
Contrary to Redacted, Stadium and Haven, both those maps have been designed as AOW maps and would definitely need work to make them playable as close quarters only. And it’s that work that is not to be expected anymore from the dev team. - sk1lld12 months agoLegend
I'm afraid @RanzigeRidder2 is correct the AOW maps would need a remake for close quarters and that would not happen.
were you crying when you type this response?
I have played Spearhead with infantry only before, so it doesn't need a rework. Why do you talk like you have some authority?

This.
[Quote] While we’ve enjoyed and are proud of creating these seasons of additional content for Battlefield 2042, it is now necessary for us to turn from the present to the future. What this ultimately means is that Season 7 will serve as the final season for Battlefield 2042. After Season 7 concludes, we will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but we are moving away from delivering official seasons. @ro7hbard Nobody is acting like they have any authority, we are just fellow gamers providing information that is out in the open as @sk1lld shows.
And infantry only is something completely different than close quarters. Or do you believe large open fields with huge distances to cover qualify as close quarters? The C and E objectives on Spearhead qualify as Close Quarters but the maps as a whole doesn't. So what is it you want more infantry only or more close quarters? In the case of the latter a rework is required. In case of infantry only you need to hope for a infantry only playlist. Looking at the community calendar there will be Infantry Breakthrough from 20-27 August and in Portal there will be Tactical Conquest in the same period.Again you repeat your self and ignore what I said. I am not suggesting any new development and it is your (wrong) opinion that the maps would need any rework. I am suggesting adding additional maps to the existing game mode, which is completely within the remit of statement that you have quoted.
Now if you think the maps are too big for infantry only, that is your opinion, don't though pretend like I am suggesting something I am not because you don't like the idea.
Flash point would make a great infantry map so would most of the maps for that matter. You can spawn on beacons and objectives and squad members, you don't need to spawn at spawn every time as you know being such an expert.
