@Cemtexx Interesting, here on PC you can't even find any Portal servers (there are typically only 3 available at a time) UNLESS we keep Crossplay enabled. Once we enable Crossplay and bring the consoles onboard then all of a sudden a buch of Portal servers all appear.

@BigShottt Actually the "crossplay off" issues apply to all platforms.
Either you are in the big regional "crossplay on" matchmaking pool, or you are in one of the tiny regional platform specific matchmaking pools.
The reason why the platform specific pools are so small is, that the BF2042 client always enables crossplay permanently, when you join a crossplay party.
eg. you have crossplay disabled and join a friends party that has crossplay enabled, your client changes your setting from disabled to enabled. And this setting stays enabled, even after you left the party, until you disable crossplay again.
But this change isn't obvious, so many player just stay on crossplay on.

- 3 years ago@kregora I live in the UK on EU servers, trust me, find none crossplat lobbies on other cross play games is no issue, its only 2042 that this happens on.
The games I have both tested Cross play on and off are obvs 2042 and then tried the same test on MW2019, COD Cold War, Chivalry 2, Halo Infinite, and all those games there was a good amount of people on, 2042 is a dead game with virtually no players for what this game could of done. Its a shame that a game series I have played since 2002 (BF1942) is now dead and thrown in the gutter by EA.- kregora3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Cemtexx And the reason is, that the BF2042 kinda forces the settings to "Crossplay On".
But this change isn't obvious. And since it isn't obvious most people don't turn it off again.
So after a time, most player have crossplay enabled.
What you need to understand is, that crossplay player only play with other crossplay players.
So a XBox player with crossplay active will never join a XBox only game.
I don't say this is the smartest way to do it, it just is, as it is.
