Confused: Specialists can use all weapons, one shot kills, COD on larger maps?

I haven't read up on everything BF2042 (XBSX player) but, what the heck? All specialists have access to practically all weapons? Constant one shot (non-headshot) death/kills when I'm not being run ...

Hey, that makes two of us, been here since BFMC.

When in the previous games did you...

   Play as a sniper with an assault rifle?

   Play as an engineer with a sniper rifle?

   Play as assault with an LMG?

I dig the new gadgets but, where are all the freakin' guns and boundaries between them man!
