@xxHaitxxI've been bringing this up myself quite a bit and you get the same tired arguments from the same people. People shouldn't get a free aim bot because they choose a worse input for playing a shooter. I understand crossplay being a thing, but at this point, let's just call it a failed experiment. There's no need for crossplay. There's enough players on each platform to be healthy to sustain.
If you play on PC, you shouldn't get ANY aim assistance what so ever. There are plenty of statistics to prove that aim assist has been over tuned in many FPS games. Look at how many Pros have switched on Apex. They all say it's just easier to be consistent. It takes a lot more effort (brain power) to manually aim.
Think of your brain as CPU. You only have so much usable processing total. Ever watch a video of a Pro or of a good player, and think, "I could do that"? Everything seems slower, more digestible, smoother. When you lighten up what your brain has to process, you can make better decisions in the moment. PC players have to dedicate a lot more processing power to just their aim with a mouse. It's not that easy. One pixel off, and you miss. Aim assist cleans up so much, and even snaps you onto target to begin with. That's arguably the hardest part. There's plenty of statistics across many games that show aim assist is the more consistent choice and out perform MnK.
One of the biggest issues that doesn't get enough attention in BF2042 is the reduced recoil for controller players. It's very noticeable. Add that to snap onto target, rotational assist, slow down, and whatever else they give controller players, it's far too much.
I will not be buying another shooter that has crossplay from here on out. I'm done with them. I don't care that I have good stats, that I hold my own, that I typically place in the top 5 of the scoreboard. When an unaware console player takes damage from the side, flips around, then instantly kills me, that's infuriating. It feels cheap and unearned. There's nothing to learn from that instance, no way to improve on that scenario. It's incredibly unsatisfying, and I don't need that from games I play.

I think you will find both sides of the argument can say the same.- JOGAGATYA2 years agoSeasoned Ace
@TheseusJasonCrossplay HAS to go. What is the benefit for Dice to have this in the game? What is their argument for having it? Low player count? Some kind of revenue? They need to launch the next game without crossplay for sure. Looks like it is to blame for most problems. Probably netcode had to be adjusted because of this, so ultimately the problem is crossplay.
Edit: BF players never had crossplay before this game. We all know how BF gameplay should feel. It is different from previous titles in a bad way for sure.
- Alethes2 years agoSeasoned Ace@JOGAGATYA fully and wholeheartedly agree with you. Top of my wishlist of 'features' to be abandoned for BF7. I've no idea what the rationale might have been for it?... My guess is to support 128-players mode? Remember DICE bet heavily in it, so much so that, as you know, maps were designed around it—turning out ultimately to be vast, dreary, empty spaces for walking and sight-seeing.
And frankly, out of all possible nightmares in store for BF7 the worst one is that they may actually keep crossplay on. Based on two statements:
• in the last EA earnings call Andrew Wilson mentioned (paraphrasing) "one truly connected ecosystem" for the next BF title. I read PC + Consoles all in as one.
• DICE recently advertised a job opening looking for someone "to improve the controller experience". Why so relevant now?... Because everyone's complaining of the discrepancies between M&K and Controller...?
If I were a betting person I'd say odds-on crossplay is here to stay.
- RaginSam2 years agoSeasoned Ace@TheseusJason Well there’s statistics and data to back up certain claims, while others only offer anecdotal proof. So not really.

Its Time For EA To Pull Aim Assist From Console ,, This isnt 15 years ago and today Console players are just as good as any PC player but now its to the point that Console players using aim Assist have an unfair advantage over PC players . So please EA read this and give it some thought !

Amen its time for peoples to A either get better and more in shape controllers that CAN AIM PROPERLY and B get themselves used to aim for real instead of having to rely on built in aimbots ...
I use to play games on controlers such as Killzone , MAG or even some COD where i was disabling the aim assist and while at disavantage i was still performing as good as those with the aim assist wich should have performed worst than me ..
This trend of making back end cheats to help consoles players is a total jokes .. backend hacks for controlers such as the video below of Halo devs is a shame for everyones and shouldnt exist in this day and age we seek to combat hackers and soft aimbots and cheaters ..
Dice as show a bad exemple and show that hackers are legitimate since controllers players get a built in hacks in the form of soft aimbot aka aim assistHalo devs describing their back end aimbots for controlers
