@jamesnyers why not PS vs Xbox?
I'm absolutely against mixing controllers and m&k on one server. However saying that aim assist is a huge advantage over PC is a strange thing to say. Console players RARELY are among top players during a match.
If console players were forced to play without aim assist many would left because aim assist (slowdown) is essential for console gaming. Thumb precision isnt close to whole palm precision.
When a PS player is against another PS player the most important stuff happens within that network.
When a PS player is against an Xbox player there is an extra step. Info has to leave the PS network go through the internet to the Xbox network and back and forth. No?
Same in the console vs PC situation but then the dreaded m&k / aim assist further throws off the equation.
When you throw the 3 situations together you can imagine how things get complex in the netcode department…
Who suffers and complains? The players. All of them.

I would love DICE to do a 1 week experiment. Turn off/disable crossplay for a week. Lets see what people experience and what feedback they would give. . Other than: there are less players in the game now…i know.
More players would come to play later if the game is more fair/responsive. .- 2 years ago

More players would come to play later if the game is more fair/responsive. .I have played the last gen version earlier in the year and I've discovered the difference in gameplay (besides competing against last gen players) results from stupid things happening far less often I feel. That said I'm not against crossplay and I think removing crossplay altogether is not the way to go. But I feel that there were far less false deaths on last gen.

More players would come to play later if the game is more fair/responsive. .All of the feedback would be imbelished to support personal agendas based on what they think the game should be. The same as it is right now because the truth is that we all no matter the platform connect to EA servers to play Battlefielld 2042.
There is no special privileges given to any side. Xbox Live and Playstation Network does nothing in an EA game. It is so disappointing that we are probably going to lose crossplay in the next game because so many people want to keep this nonsense going.
It is fascinating that people are more upset about this than not having clans in the game almost two years after release.

I just played the 128 player version today. It was horrible. Death from everywhere in am instant. If it’s not the crossplay, I don’t know what it is. Something is not right 100% !!!
Also: if crossplay stays, forums will be full of m&k advantage/aim assist threads. Do you honestly think crossplay could be implemented in a game where split seconds count?
A playstation player is connected to the PS network THEN to the EA servers.
A PC player might be connected to EA servers directly.
Right there, there are 2 different paths, one of the with an extra step. It must be hard/impossible to sync up everything in a game where split seconds count. Especially on 128 player modes.
All i know that BF is not the same since crossplay is implemented.
I might be wrong and i would admit my mistake if someone explains me what else is the difference between the 128 game/last gen version.
BF is my favourite franchise. I would love the gameplay to be as it was in the last 20 years
