I'd rather polish than content. That said BF2042 has done a rather poor job of being able to deliver on either.
If the game is good enough the content doesn't 'exhaust'. If that was true than why are people still playing BF4, BF1 and BFV? When was the last time CS:GO or TF2 got new content?
- SCUBASTEVE1202 years agoSeasoned Ace@AngrySquid270 This is actually a really good point because I feel every single map in bf3 and bfV are good and I never tire of them. Bf1 has mostly all good maps as well. Bf2042s maps on the other hand are all mediocre and plain and none of them stand out. They feel empty as well because there is little to no destruction (not even craters from explosives!!!) No resupply points, and the absence of buildable fortifications (from bfV which makes me 😭). So if the maps are going to be mediocre at best they should put out at least 3 per season. Idk how they can feel like their doing a superb job when the games has not come even close to past battlefield games.
- SCUBASTEVE1202 years agoSeasoned Ace@AngrySquid270 Also I notice the devs won't even touch a topic such as this but they'll jump right on to answer a simple redundant topic like "controller settings?" Or something that is irrelevant. How can we get them to engage in something relevant like this topic?!?!?!

I'm sure the Dev's all have a bunch of cool map designs they'd love to see come to life but can't afford to make them all happen.
Map count likely isn't a Dev decision. It's a leadership decision. Dev's are unlikely to engage in topics beyond their control.
Also I'm sure map count is influenced by player data. The active online community does not represent the typical customer. If the typical customer is only playing 4hr per week then a low map count is justified. It's hard to justify 25+ maps when it's really only going to be appreciated by 5% of your customers.

@AngrySquid270You make a valid point but who wants to play a game more than 4+ hours a week when they'd be bored with it in that time due to lack of maps/ bad map design. More people would play more and come back to the game to play if there was something to actually play. Plus they have the best advertising team available to show that off and bring people back. The trailers always get me excited each season then I actually play it and 2 weeks in I'm over it and back to past battlefield games 🤷
