I really liked Frontlines in BF1 and BFV, but the matches I've played so far have been pretty unenjoyable. My KD hasn't taken such a large knock in a long time either. First match, we stomped the other side, second, third and fourth match were my side getting the stomping. The last match before I gave up for today was a stalemate in the first sector with my team mostly camping. Right now, unless my next matches are significantly more enjoyable, the only reason I'm going to continue playing is because of the rewards. I honestly wish they weren't tied to this mode, though, and I think that's a mistake Dice are making again after seeming to realise during Rudux (wouldnt be so bad if it HAD to be Frontlines but less than 100 ribbons).

So far I've played on Discarded, Reclaimed and Redacted. The weekly missions are out of the way so no more stress about that.My feedback until now is a mixed bag.I think 45 minutes is too long for a game, this should be brought down to 30 minutes max. I had 2 matches lasting the full time, only to result in a loss and a draw. The latter honestly is the most frustrating.I like the need to PTFO and also that the type of objective is changing within one game, so you could have to adapt your mindset from attacking to defending. I really liked this mode in BF1 and BFV (BF1 was the best). The need to be on the objective leads to a lot of close combat. The addition of the vehicles as a final stand to the defenders adds to that need to adapt your plays style. It works because they kept it limited to ground vehicles only, air vehicles would break the game mode for sure.Now some map specific feedback;Discarded, normally one of my least favorite maps but on this mode I quite like it. Probably because of the lack of aerial threats and good possibilities to flank.Reclaimed, too small for Frontliines! Only one sector to capture before moving to the arming of the M-COMS. Placement of M-COMS is unbalanced, US M-COMS (A and B objectives from Conquest layout) are out in the open, RU M-COMS (D and E objectives from CQ layout) especially the M-Com at D which is that mountain bunker gives an unfair challenge. They could have gotten more out of this map by moving the final objectives into what is the team's spawn on Conquest, and as such adding 2 sectors to conquer before heading into attacking the M-COMSRedacted, I only played a round which was in progress already and my team (RU Side) was already holding the point in that hall between C and B in the Conquest layout. From there it was some back and forth between that point and their final sector, which we eventually captured so we could blow up 1 of their M-COMS and win the game. The same mistake has been made on this map as in the Breaktrhough and Rush modes, the tunnels with the ziplines are not available, turning this map in a 3-lane funnel of which CoD would be proud. That leaves Haven to be still experienced by me.

@ChusmaConArmas The rewards are just awful, 2042 continues to go down the Apex / COD route with just the stupidest skins for a military themed FPS game. The mode itself is ok, it’s the teams that need to PTFO where it breaks down. That’s not new though, past titles had the same shortcoming. The shame in the battlepass is you need two wins in it, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get in the right team to get that done. Time will tell. I want the 10 BP points from the bonus, but otherwise wouldn’t bother playing just to get the “rewards”.

@ATFGunr Agreed, awful rewards! I would not play Frontlines just for those. Apparently it's what people want these days, bright shiny colorful skins.Also it seems the rewards will stay the same for the full event duration, which is 2 weeks. That's just lame. They've got to lure the players into buying the new bundles.I completed my 2 wins needed for the bonus mission, so that stress is gone. I will probably go back in for the occasional game, but I would not play this mode continuously as I still think 45 minutes is too long.

@Hudson1531 You didn't play BF1 or BF1 and with it Frontlines before?

Frontlines is a combination of Breakthrough and Rush. It resembles breakthrough in capturing objectives and as such moving forward, but the difference is you can be pushed back and as such loose a sector again. This creates a tug of war.
When you pushed the enemy back into the final sector the game turns into Rush and you have to arm 2 M-Coms. If you don't succeed you will fall back to the previous sector and will need to cap that again.

The part which is different compared to BF1 and BFV Frontlines is that the defenders of the final section get vehicles (on Discarded, Reclaimed and Haven). At first this got me worried, but so far it has not been a real issue yet.

I have never played a game where such a disgusting mod and such disgusting maps came together in my life.

I have never sworn so much while playing a game in my life.

I play as a sniper. I lie down and wait for my target to come. Why do you make a mod that requires people to run? I am truly disgusted.
Run for 5 minutes, die without taking cover, then run for another 5 minutes. And let it continue like this

@LucidDreaming84This is a game designed for SMG users. I’m thinking about how to kill people using a VCAR in this mode. I think it’s a torment for all Marksman users.

This is the best game mode available.
But, ppl dont get to understand that the match is not won paasively because the other team runs out of tickets, you have to actively get inside of the Area Objective, stay inside untill is captured and push to the next.
At the end you have ..... Again ..... Actively move your * inside the area objective and activate the explosives.
Too much to handle for the battlefield community.
This is compatible with playing as a sniper, getting in a good spot is part of the sniping process, if you dont enjoy that, just look for another role.
