Dear Wildcat, please come back to your former glory and then some, we miss you 😔
P.S. today, I spawned you Wildcat, and after seeing how weak you are, I got out and shot x2 g84 rockets, x3 c5s, x2 emp grenades, unloaded a few hundred rounds in you, then flipped you the bird🖕. Despite doing all that you stayed the same 💩 you are.
Besides the weapon choice that Hawxxeye mentions with the 35mm being basically mandatory for the current flavor of OP air (and being actually useable against infantry), you probably need to change your playstyle. Drive around the edges of most maps, avoid combat, drive away if you see enemy vehicles or get shot at. A big mistake I see from wildcat players is driving into points. Don't, every map has flank routes/less active areas, sit on those exclusively.
Sit on the side roads on Flashpoint, sit on the outer rim of Kaleidoscope. Remember that hill on Renewal that had a point behind it? Be near it. Avoid the docking area on Manifest, instead go the polar opposite, the other side of the hill; you might even find the enemy wildcat there too.
One thing I don't see mentioned in either videos is that you should use 3rd person for rotating more, at least on PC. You can switch into 3rd person, turn around at an actually reasonable speed, and wait for the turret to catch up, get back in 1p and start shooting again. Aiming in ground vehicles is well designed.
It can be a tedious playstyle, and you will not be getting many kills in the wildcat, less than on foot even, and you will likely be at the bottom 3rd of the scoreboard, but that's how it is. You can enjoy making air players mad that their OP vehicles died, I guess?
If you are on console though... Given the wildcat requires precise leading, I have to wonder if it's even useable on console, especially the 35mm.
Kills in the wildcat aren't the only results. Don't forget that merely causing aircraft to leave an area is good for your team. Blowing them up is just icing on the cake!
